Icefeahter went looking for his sister Snowheart.

Redstar padded out of her den. The snow crunched under her paws as she made her way out of camp.

Icefeather saw REdstar coming out of her den. "Have you seen Snowheart?" he asked while politely dipping his head.

Poisoncrystal saw Icefeather and felt her heart flutter. But she pretended that nothing was wrong, breezing right past him.

Thunderfrost emerged from his den, and trotted over to Redstar, dipping his head as well.

[Sam]

"She went out of camp a while ago." Redstar replied.

Thunderfrost sat next to Redstar. "What is going to happen today?"

[Sam]

"Today? I would like a patrol to check the border with Mountain Pack. They've been getting restless." she said.

[мσση∂υѕт]

Thunderfrost nodded. "I agree. I'll lead it."

[Sam]

"Good. I'll check the border with Marsh Pack" Redstar said. "Icefeather, can you waych the camp while we are gone?" Redstar padded toward the camp entrance with some warriors without waiting for an answer.

Thunderfrost trotted after her, his own group of warriors following.

Redstar padded along the border with Marsh Pack.

Thunderfrost turned around. "Purplefur, Poisoncrystal. You two come with me to patrol the Marsh Pack border.

[Sam]

"Okay Thunderfrost!" Purplefur treid to hide her excitement. A patrol with the handsome Snow Pack deputy! Purplefur couldn't help herself. Her fur bristled at the thought.

Poisoncrystal shot Purplefur a look. "What's up with your fur?" she asked quietly.

Thunderfrost started out at a slow trot, taking his time.

"Oh! My fur! Uh... nothing" she answered quickly.

Poisoncrystal shrugged. "Okay." She followed Thunderfrost, trying to think of a reason for her strange behavior.

Purplefur followed in silence. She didn't want to make it seem she liked Thunderfrost or anything. She really hoped she didn't say anything stupid.

Thunderfrost led them along the old path, slipping in and out of the frost covered trees.

[Sam]

Purplefur was dreaming about Thunderfrost as she walked. She accidentally ran into a tree.

Poisoncrystal turned. "Oh, Purplefur." she muttered to herself. "Come on." she ran over to her. "Are you okay?"

[Sam]

"Owww... I think so. I didn't see the tree there!" she said. Purplefur got up and shook the dust from her sleek pelt.

Poisoncrystal laughed. "It's just been there since you were born!"

"Really? It wasn't there yesterday. Are you seeing stars?" Purplefur asked.

Poisoncrystal shook her head. "The collision did that to you. Now come on. You're making a fool of yourself in front of the deputy!"

"Right... I don't want to do that!" Purplefur ran to catch up with Thunderfrost.

Icefeather was honored and disappointed that he had to guard the camp.

Poisoncrystal wished that she could be with Icefeather.

Icefeather was worried about the patrol they had been gone along time.

Thunderfrost led his group far, until his nose caught scent of something not so good.

Icefeather stretched out watching everything and everyone. He yawned "I wish Poisoncrystal were here" he mumbled.

Poisoncrystal kept thinking about Icefeather. She wished that he could be with them.

Icefeather smelled Snowheart before he saw her. "Where have ouy been" he asked his sister.

"I was looking for you earlyer" he told her while sterching his legs.

"I wanted to go hunting with someone but now I have to watch the camp" he yipped.

Redstar led her patrol farther away from camp.



Purplefur smelled something too. The acrid scent hung in the air. It smelled terrible.

"Because Redstar told me to gaurd the camp until Thunderfrost or her got back" he sighed.

Poisoncrystal screwed up her nose. "What is that smell?!"

Whitefire followed Redstar, sniffing, her nose twitching.

Thornfrost spat on the ground. "I don't know."

"I think Redstar headed towards Marshpack border" Icefeather groaned.

Blackstripe stepped ouy of his den. "Hey Icefeather. Snowheart" he called out.

Thornfrost turned to Poisoncrystal. "Go back and tell Icefeather. Ask him to come see if he recognizes it."

"Redstar? What is going on?" Whitefire asked.
