Carolina Alvarenga "I'd like to know if in the original book the author has written English phrases with bad grammar on purpose to show the character's lack of education".

Carolina Alvarenga it was just a curiosity

Darlene No problem. It was really confusing at first, but I guess you get used to it.

Hi Carolina, I am Portuguese too, I read the book in English and the point of the messed up grammar is that there isn't reading or writing at the time the story takes place. So this is the dialect that has come from it.

Blujeanbooks96 If you are referring to whether or not the book is supposed to have no gramma or punctuation and the words are literally written how they are spoken... the book is supposed to be like that :)Saba is uneducated, so her language is not good. Plus it just adds to the book, I think.
