Robin | 5442 comments I WANNA RANT.
I HATE SOME PEOPLE.
MOSTLY I HATE THE GIRL WHO THINKS IT'S OKAY TO HAVE A STORY SO INCREDIBLY SIMILAR TO MINE AND SD'S. INTENTIONAL OR NOT, OURS WAS PUBLISHED FIRST.
I DON'T CARE THAT THEY'RE JUST DUMB FAN FICTIONS, IT STILL MATTERS.

message 104: by Robin (new)

Robin | 5442 comments Also, can I rant for one more comment?

One of my friends who loves to gossip kinda hates my other friend. I'm not sure why exactly, but they've known each other for a while. And like, I think the one is jealous of the other or something, and they both think the other is obnoxious.
But anyway, the first one is spreading rumors that I wanna date the other one. I DO NOT. I don't wanna date ANYONE. For one, I thought I was avoiding drama by doing this, and for two, I'm just not ready. I'm still sorting out my brain for myself. Also, if I was gonna date someone, it wouldn't be that guy.
So any suggestions?

Jocelyn (joc113) | 2640 comments Tell the people they're idiots and walk away. Works every time. XD

Well, for me anyway. XD Kyra has this friend who's in, like, 6th grade or something. And the girl has a crush on this guy called Derek(I think). The other day, Kyra dragged me over to her while saying something like, "Here, Jocelyn's good at role-playing, you can talk to her." I just kinda stood there trying to figure out what was going on as the girl went "Uhh..." until finally I turned to Kyra and said, "What am I supposed to be doing?" Kyra says, "You're supposed to be Derek." Me: "Who's Derek?" Some other girl who was standing near us said, "Her crush." Kyra says, "Just say 'Yo.'" I looked at her, said, "Bye," and went back to eating my lunch. Apparently, Kyra thought that was extremely hilarious.

Robin | 5442 comments CAN I PLEASE RANT.
None of you are obligated to read.
Or care.
Just ignore all of this dumb complaining.

I'm in jazz band at school. But because I play clarinet and had never been in a jazz band before, I got jammed into the stupid person jazz band full of dumb slacker sophomore and junior boys. And then the one girl who plays sax who is a freshman and whom I am "friends" with. But she NEVER comes anymore. Because it's stupid and a waste of time and her parents don't give a damn. But my mom won't let me skip anything ever. And lately, tops, half of the band will show at a rehearsal. But this week, because we have tomorrow off and rehearsals are usually Mondays, he's having rehearsal Wednesday. And NO ONE shows at Wednesday rehearsals, and this one's at an AWFUL time. 3:00-4:30 or something. Which means I have to stay through from when I get to school in the morning to after jazz because my parents work. It's SO aggravating because every member is bad or just annoying or just doesn't come at all. I would love nothing more but to drop this, but it's not an option half way through, and I'm clinging onto the hope that next year I'll make it into the good band with the cool band instructor whom I have for regular band.
So yeah. I am not a happy person.

message 112: by Fran (new)

Fran (franswims) | 3422 comments That really stinks Robin. I'm sure you'll get into the better band next year. I guess for this year you'll just have to stick it through. But I bet the band director has noticed that you're sticking it through and he probably really appreciates it! Good luck.

Jocelyn (joc113) | 2640 comments MY RANT ON DOCTOR WHO: This is a pathetic rant. I know. But why do we have to wait so long?!?!?! March 30 is so far away!!! And the worst thing is, I DON'T GET THE CHANNEL! So I have to buy the season on amazon! Thank god I can get it as soon as it airs, though. But this is the worst part: I haven't even seen the first part of the season because I need to wait until closer to the time the season starts up again because if I don't I will die and that will not be good. So, yeah. WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MARCH 30TH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

ange (undercommons) We had our Disneyland recording for orchestra on Thursday. Last year we made it in, but we performed over summer vacation and not a lot of people came. Not to mention nobody wanted to watch us in Disneyland. Nobody ever wants to watch orchestras perform at amusement parks. Like Knott's Berry Farm. =_= A lot of peeps were all on vacation or something. ): We had to recruit a few people from a nearby high school {which has an EPIC orchestra, BTW} to help us out..DX

But for this year's recording, we only played, like, one song and a section of another. Is that even enough? Last year, we played at least 5. Or 4. Or 3. So I'm a bit concerned.

Also, for the song we played, there's a percussion part on the drums, and we usually have this celloist who is actually really good at drums play it. BUT, he decided to go to Korea for 3 months..So we got stuck with a person from Adv. Band who's pretty good, too, but he doesn't have the experience {the other guy also played drums when we played that song last year}. So, I'm pretty worried about that, also...

Another thing: We had our Awards Assembly on the same day, cuz it was the last day of the quarter, not to mention the semester. Adv. Orchestra was gonna perform at the beginning, but it turned out we would be playing at the end, so during the entire assembly, we just sat there on stage. Seriously. And there was one of those projection screens lowered in front of us and only the people on the edges could see around it. And my stand partner kept acting like the queen of the world and ordering me around even though I've been in the orchestra a year longer than her. Not to mentiont a grade level above her. Jeesh She keeps acting like she knows everything there is to know. =_=

message 121: by ange (new)

ange (undercommons) Another thing:
Do you guys remember that science project I was working on way back? Stroop Effect and all? It turns out I got into my school's first ever science fair. Top 25 of each grade level. Sure, I'm thrilled because it's epicly awesome and all, but I really don't want to do it. I'm just absolutely sick and tired of that project.
Also, my frexing science teacher hasn't given me the display board yet. GRRR. The people from other classes already have them! And I should have used this weekend to do a lot of work on my project because we had Friday off, but nooo, I didn't have the display board. =_=
Stickers are seriously overpriced. Seriously. Yesterday, we went to buy supplies for my project, which I was thrilled for, because my parents never let me buy things for my projects or my brothers unless it's absolutely necessary, but even then, they get the crappy ones with really bad quality and no creativity. Which stinks, because I like to be creative and am a total perfectionist. My mom is just like, "JUST DO IT. Why do you need to be so fancy?" Gr. It's not fancy. You just lack a creativity drive.

message 126: by ange (new)

ange (undercommons) I NEED TO RANT RIGHT NOW.

The sixth graders at my school are SERIOUSLY annoying. Most of them make me want to throttle them and then bury them. The rest are okay. But that's a small percentage. Small.
Dang it, when we were sixth graders, we weren't that frickin' irritating!!

Me: *turns slightly and very lightly touches sixth grader with my backpack accidentally*
Sixth grader: Oh my GOD, excuse me, you just HIT me with your BACKPACK!
Me: *turns around* What.
Sixth grader: You just HIT me with your backpack! *insert snotty tone*
Me: *gives Death Stare and turns away*

Another time:

Me: *walking towards hill near park with my carpool* {There are a bunch of people walking on the sidewalk, which is why we opt for the hill. People are crammed on either side of us..}
Carpool: Hey, let's go dodge around these peeps.
Me: *edges around them and accidentally bumps against a random sixth grader* {You know what's coming next..}
Sixth grader: EXCUUUSE ME, thanks for shoving!!
Me: ......You're very welcome. *keeps walking*

My temper is being pushed to the limit. When they start annoying them I just snark at them. And they act all superior to us, even though we're older than them. Sheesh. And if I see another sixth grader showing off their "prowess" with a Rubik's Cube, I WILL strangle them. It's getting on my nerves. "Oh, I can solve it!" this and "I'm so awesome!" that. Not to brag or anything, but I can solve a Cube a zillion times faster than them! Not to mention 4x4's or a 2x2's. I was in the talent show solving a Rubik's Cube against another guy and beat him by a lot.
AND THEY'RE JUST LIKE: "I pwn you!"
You could say I'm the Queen of Rubik's Cubes. At my school. Which is why this annoys the hell outta me.

message 127: by ange (new)

ange (undercommons) Okay, let me rephrase. Sure, it's nice they can solve a cube, but one:
They don't need to flaunt it that much. I kind of showed off a little, too, but they're just like, "LOOK AT ME SOLVE THIS CUBE RIGHT NOW OR I'LL SHOVE IT DOWN YOUR THROAT."

And two: I'll admit; I liked being one of the two who could even solve a Cube. It was nice and felt awesome, you know? That kind of feeling when you get 100 on a test while everybody got an awful score. Sighhhhh.

Wonderful.
Unsurprisingly, most of the dudes in my grade level are shockingly immature. Last year was the worst. The year where everyone becomes incredibly perverted and if they see a simple mechanism labelled, "Push Down," they break into hysterics and cannot speak for a full five minutes.
I remember earlier this year, in science class, these guys were playing a game to see who could yell {what you said before...} the loudest, and by the end of the period, they were all practically screaming it at the top of their lungs.

message 133: by LiveLoveTumble (new)

LiveLoveTumble | 1534 comments LOL Ducky has already heard this story, but...
My brother was talking a few weeks ago about how next year the kids who are now fifth graders (incoming sixth graders) will be sooo annoying and pretending they're all cool and stuff. The funny part? He's in sixth grade right now. I don't think he quite realized he just described himself right there...

message 134: by ange (new)

ange (undercommons) XD
Sometimes when you think back taht you were just like them before..
However, I don't think any of us were {or are} that annoying when we were sixth graders.

message 135: by LiveLoveTumble (new)

LiveLoveTumble | 1534 comments LOL well I can't solve a Rubik's cube to save my life so...
Well, I guess if I had nothing else to do and like 3 weeks, I could probably figure it out eventually...

message 136: by ange (new)

ange (undercommons) Most people don't know, but most Rubik's Cubes come with algorithms {or however you spell that. I forgot XP} in the case/container thing.

message 137: by LiveLoveTumble (new)

LiveLoveTumble | 1534 comments Oh. Interesting. I got mine like 5 years ago so the container is looooong gone. I'm pretty fast at doing one side but not more than that.

message 138: by ange (new)

ange (undercommons) Wow. My brother does it to, so he helped me on solving one side but was no help after that, so I used the thingie and eventually memorized it. We have more ten or more Cubes lying around our house..

Oh. My. God. Yes. 6th graders are the most annoying things on the planet. They think that because they aren't the youngest in the school anymore they own the freaking world. YOU DON'T!!! Like the other night there was this thing called literacy night and me and a friend were signed up to do a read-a-loud and activity. So we were both reading Dr.Seuss books. These two 6th grade boys come in and they sit down for like 2 minutes and then leave. Then they come back like 10 minutes later as I'm finishing the book and are like, we want our stamps now (the stamps were a thing that if you went to a station you got one on your paper and then if you got enough you were entered in a drawing.) and I was like uh no. You litened to like two pages of the book. And they were like okay grumpy. So, then my friend read her book and the entire time the sixth graders were going on about how dumb Dr.Seuss was and stuff so at the end of her book they asked for a stamp and we said no you didn't earn it.

So, later when I went to the bathroom and to get a drink I saw them again and they were like look it's grumpy 1! Ugh. I hate them.

message 143: by Fran (last edited Feb 08, 2013 08:26PM) (new)

Fran (franswims) | 3422 comments Okay. I have another rant too. So. Ya know how I'm in Science Olympiad? And there was a invitational tournament a few weeks ago and they had moved it from that Saturday to Sunday and then the district cancelled our buses because they didn't feel like driving us there at like 6am.

There was another tournament this weekend. And it was supposed to be tomorrow but since it's snowing out they moved the date to next week. This is totally bad except for the following reasons

1) I have an indoor softball tournament next weekend and I won't be able to go on the Saturday that it's on because I'll be at the Science Olympiad tournament.
2)I busted my freaking but learning the dumb panpipes and the dumb song you have to play only to realize that I have another week to finish learning it!
3) Shock. Value. Is. Not. Fun. If anyone ever tells you that learning how to calculate resistance or conductivity in micrograms or whatever the heck 10 to the 6th is THEY ARE A SPY FOR THE MIDNIGHT SUN AND EVERYTHING THEY SAY IS A LIE. Yes. It's that bad. And I spent the last week freaking out because I don't like failing at things and I would most definitely fail the Shock Value test because we've only practiced like three times for it.
4) My parents are leaving on a cruise the next day (Sunday) after the tournament and seeing as I will be gone from 4:30am to 8:30pm I won't see them much on their last day at home. :(
5) Because of the dumb snow the swim meet that I was going to miss because of the Science Olympiad tourney I would've been able to go to because the Tourney got moved to next week. But since it's snowing and the district is under no obligation to plow the parking lot for our swim meet the meet has been cancelled. So, now instead of just missing the swim meet I will be missing a day of the softball tourney, the swim meet, and my parents last day home.

To make up for all of this I am spending the weekend curled up in a blanket reading. I finished the 2nd book in the Secret Series and I hope to finish the rest by the end of this weekend.

Rant over.

I can completely relate. We have 5th graders after 6th graders, so now the sixth graders are like, oh yeah we pwn.
We're supposed to be a K-8 school but we're still pretty new. This is the school's 3rd year, so we only have 5-8. LOL
First it was 5 and 6, then 5, 6, 7, and now 5-8. I miss when it was just 5 and 6. I miss when it was 5 and 6 cuz the next year all these weird people came from schools far, far away......

Yeah, while most schools it's 6-8 for middle school our district is 5-8 and the 6th graders are especially annoying. They actually got all of their privileges taken away (spirit day, clash day, swim trips, the whole reward system, etc.) because they are so awful this year.
