Date inconsistencies SPOILER ALERT

I really enjoyed this book, but I noticed that there were some inconsistencies with dates in the body of the text and the family tree:
In Chapter 1 it says that Lucy was 17 when Martin (her father) died, yet according to the family tree, she was 19 or 20. And in Chapter 18 Evie (Lucy's mother) tells Lucy that Martin was 45 when he died, but according to the family tree, he was 43. There seems to be a 2-year discrepancy somewhere.....
also Iris's baptismal certificate (chapter 5) states she was baptised 31st March 1911, yet Rose's letters to Iris state her birth date as 30th April 1911.
I emailed Kim Edwards about this but received no reply. Also tried to post on her guest book, but no luck there.
Anyone have any ideas/clues/explanations?
Thanks!

Gosh Marianne, your good working all those dates out...maybe someone lied about their age??

You did well to spot those errors. I could barely keep awake for the first 250 pages. It was written just well enough so that I didn't actually give up but I found it very slow. Not a patch on The Memory Keeper's Daughter. Hope the inconsistencies didn't spoil it for you, Marianne.

I noticed date inconsistencies too. I notice it in many books.
