Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments This was a very pleasant surprise to wake up to this morning. Thanks very much. I think To the Grave should lend itself to discussion very well and I'm looking forward to joining in the discussion. :o)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Yay! Loved this book. Look forward to finally being able to chat with spoilers (obv not in this thread though)

message 4: by Oak Tree (new)

Oak Tree | 50 comments This story was universally loved by readers. Its main character, the young and naive Mena, featured more than Jefferson Tayte, the genealogist 'hero' of these stories. We watched him in fascination as he discovered the truth and became embroiled in the repercussions which were felt to the present day. Mena's tale is sensitively told. It is obviously meticulously researched but this knowledge is used to feed the story not to impress the reader.

The book featured a strong cast of characters and readers were outraged at the injustices suffered by Mena at the hands of others, particularly those who should have had her best interest at heart. There is a very poignant moment towards the end - you will know it when you read it, which touched us all.

A truly great book and a unanimous 3 Acorns - An Oak Tree Must Read recommendation.

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Yay Steve !

I definitely need a few more days before we start going into the spoilers discussion (gives a chance for more people to read it)... was talking about the book a couple of days ago and I was still welling up lol !

Anita | 3313 comments Well done Steve, mind you " To The Grave " should be at the top of everyones list, it is a cracking read!!

message 9: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Is it the group read on KUF too? That is a fantastic load of exposure between the two groups, well done Steve and well deserved.

message 10: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Thanks everyone. I've been out and about a bit today or would have popped back in sooner. Some lovely things being said and I really can't thank you all enough. It has also been voted KUF book of the month starting today and the support from both groups is all very amazing really. If anyone has any questions about the book, please ask away in the spoiler thread and maybe others as well as myself can dive in too.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Congrats again Steve! I'm looking forward to joining in with the spoiler thread.

:0)

message 12: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments I just posted on Amazon in the Meet Our Authors forum, inviting readers to come over and chat about the book. I don' t know if any/many readers actually go into the MOA forum, but I thought I'd make it known in my TTG thread over there just in case.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments You could pop the link in here for us lazy people, Steve. ;)

message 14: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Some of us do Steve. :)

message 15: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Here's the link Patti, but there's not much going on in the MOA forum - no replies to the post in my thread from last night. In terms of inviting new readers over I should think there would be more interest in the readers forums - maybe the mystery forum or general Kindle forum. I'm always pleased to see anyone from this group pop in though. :o)

I know you do. :o)
I was thinking that some of the readers not in this group who bought To the Grave might pop over for some spoiler-chat if they knew there was a place for it.

message 17: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments You see names popping up - not everyone's as gobby as I am! But they are there none-the-less.

message 18: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments I've just listed a Goodreads giveaway for a 1st edition 6x9 paperback of To the Grave: A Jefferson Tayte Genealogical Crime Mystery.

Enter to win here: http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I just noticed that your name spelled incorrectly in this thread title.

I'll fix it for a suitable bribe.

message 20: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments I noticed it straight away, but I like it. It makes me sound Scandinavian and you know how popular crime writers from thank neck of the woods are. Larsson, Robinsonn et al. :o)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments then you should be Stev.

message 22: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Like it. Or how about, Steiv Robinssonn?

message 23: by Gingerlily - The Full Wild (last edited Jul 06, 2012 07:19AM) (new)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments There is such a thing as over-doing it! Oh, and you need a brightly patterned woolly jumper.

message 24: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Oh, yarh. A chunky, cable knit shvetter pleash.

With Dalarna horses on.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Okay, now I REALLY wanna change the thread title.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Patti (Stir Crazy) wrote: "Okay, now I REALLY wanna change the thread title."

Oh, Patti! I was going to grow my goatee out and put some platts in and everything.

message 29: by Anita (new)

Anita | 3313 comments Dont forget a matching hat with plaits( more than likely spelt wrong) hanging down either side of your head.

message 30: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Now you're cooking. I can spell it wrong anyway, 'cos I'm a bloke and shouldn't know about such things. :o)

message 31: by Anita (new)

Anita | 3313 comments I spell everything wrong Steve and not being a bloke I dont even have that excuse!
I still think you would look rather fetching in matching sweater and hat with horses and plaits!

message 32: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Is that horses on the jumper or Steiv Robinssssonn - horse master? Now I'm getting carried away.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Dragged away by the horses. Or by the plaits?

message 34: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Ouch either way.

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Not really. I Just didn't want Jud to feel left out because she missed it last time.
