Anyone else think the series title Vampire Academy is too misleading for all six books? The series is about so much more than school drama, which is what the series title makes it sound like. Not to mention Rose leaves St. Vladmirs by the end of Shadow Kissed. I've renamed the series Guardians in my mind. I think it's much more fitting. What do you think?

I think Guardians is a good one, but I also feel like Shadow Kissed sounds cool too. They could just rename that book, haha.

If it was called Guardian Chronicles, rather than Vampire Academy, I'd be more likely to pick it up.
Well, I don't think it's misleading, but to be honest, I don't love the title. Usually when I'm fervently recommending it to someone, I have to assure them it's not as corny as it sounds. I mean, obviously this doesn't apply to everyone- only to the people who like young adult books, but would never pick this up in fear of it being another "ridiculous vampire book"- which is a shame, because this series is so awesome. I don't mind any of the other titles in this series, but I wish the first book's title didn't create the illusion that the contents of this book is full of Twilight meets Gossip Girl scenes and drama.
I kind of agree with this, but I also kind of don't No it's not misleading because it's mostly to do with the school, and the school is called Vladamir acadamy. So it sorta makes sense. But I also think it is misleading because people think it's just another stupid vampire book. like the person above me said.

But I hate it when I talk highly of this series to people and tell them how attached I am to the characters and their stories, but when I mention it is called "Vampire Academy" I'm definitely being judged for being some airhead who praises chicklits instead of the well articulated story we all ADORE. I love the name because, come on, it's our VA and that's how we all know it by. However, I do think it would be smart on the part of Penguin Group to re-release this series with different titles and covers. We'd still have our old covers and titles to love but a new generation of VA fans would emerge with the new "look." :)
i think that is absurd but true we cant help but judge a book by its cover or title "vampire academy" sounds flimsy and unmeanigful and sort of holow but "they come first" is to contradictory because at one point rose decides to put herself before lissa

I mean, o..."Same! After I recommend it I spend the next five minutes trying to explain how its not as ridiculous as it sounds and then I give up. And if you think about it, training to be a guardian/ being a guardian is what the entire series is about. But I agree, the Guardian Chronicles sounds like a stuffy newspaper. But just Guardians is nice. Shadowkissed is nice too. And then the shadow kissed effect is resolved at the end.
I never did like the title of the series. It sounds like an author tried to write a kiddie-series about a vampire in high-school that wants to fit in and become a cheerleader. The cheesy title is what stopped me from picking up the books and reading it sooner. I would probably have read and absolutely loved the books even sooner. And the Guardian Chronicles is a bit formal, but I like it.
