Willow emerged from her den, stretching.
Thorn trotted over to the fresh-kill pile, grabbing a squirrel. Eagerly, he bit into it.
Willow blinked slowly and walked to the fresh-kill pile.
Thorn wagged his tail in greeting, finishing his prey. Then he stood up and stretched.
Willow wagged hers too, but kept it slightly between her legs in respect. She chose a segment of meat and laid down to chew on it.
Thorn acknowledged her obeyance with a friendly bark. "Willow, I was wondering if you would send a patrol to check the borders."
Willow dipped her head. "Sure. Do you want me to accompany them also?"
Thorn shrugged. "If you want. I will be in a hunting patrol, if you would like to join me."
Willow smiled. "Hunting patrol, border patrol. I think I would rather hunt."
Thorn nodded, grinning. "Same here."
Willow finished her meat and dipped her head again, standing and running off to select the wolves for the border patrol. After they were all off, she came back.
Thorn was waiting for her, a friendly gleam in his eye.
"Ready?" She asked.
Thorn nodded, plunging into the dense undergrowth.
Willow crouched and followed, catching up and running on Thorn's left side, slightly behind him.
Thorn raised his nose, howling his call for the hunt.
Willow looked at Thorn, wondering if she should take up the call.
Thorn flicked his ear, showing permission.
Willow took up the howl, her voice slightly higher pitched than his.
Thorn cut off the signal abruptly, spotting a fox. "Quick." he muttered to her, "get on it's other side."
Willow nodded and took off, moving quickly but silently as she made a half circle around the fox.
Thorn ran out of the brush quickly, knocking the fox off of it's feet.
Willow crouched and threw herself at the fox, her jaws around its throat with her paw on its shoulder.
Thorn quickly finished it off. "I would have liked to save it, but it could easily be a threat to the kits."
Willow nodded and straightened up, licking blood off of her chops.
Thorn shrugged. "I hate to say it, but fox is the most delicious food I have ever eaten."
Willow tilted her furry head. "Ever tried Lynx? Lynx is good."
Thorn shook his head. "Nope. Not really."
Willow opened her mouth in a smile. "Lynx is good." She repeated. "But fox does come close."
Willow wagged her tail and turned back to the fox.
Vaya, the Alpha female, last to awake, came out of the packs' den and thundered her way over to the group, stopping suddenly.

Willow looked at the fox. "Should we take it back to camp or eat it here?" she asked Thorn.((gtg sorry!!))
"Willow, mind sharing some of the fox?" Thrash said,((see character list)) stepping into view.
((hawk is part of eagle pack, waterfall))Thorn stepped forwards, narrowing his eyes.
Thorn padded forwards, nodding sharply at her.
Thorn turned. "I have no need for conversation."
Thorn glanced down at his paws. "I'm sorry."
Willow shook her head.
Evergreen walked her slowest through the forest. she was just strolling along, enjoying the peaceful forest.
Pine pricked his ears and barked a greeting to Evergreen.
Silver walked back into camp carrying a couple of rabbits. She dropped them on the pile and walked over to the group, "Good morning every."
Pine smiled."I wished I'd known you had gone to hunt."
Silver smiled and perked her ears forward, "I left early this morning."
Daniel growled as he tried to get a chipmunk.
