Elizabeth (Alaska) Series is usually thought of as books by a single author or specific group of authors. I don't see how this can be called a series, when it is defined by a publisher. That would be like calling all of the Penguin Classics a series.

Saretta (hex53617261) | 18 comments I think that Moloch refers to: http://www.goodreads.com/help/show/23...
so this does not seem a serie despite its name.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments These books were not written in order to be part of this series but were gathered up for it after the fact; that's usually the easiest way to distinguish the two types of series. Series as used on GR are collections of books created to be part of that collection; publishers may call other things "series", but they don't fit the GR use.

Someone should probably transfer this to a listopia list, and then the series object should be deleted.

Working on it. Finished. Can you (or someone else) make it static, please?

Thank you very much for the help, Amara :-)

Amara Tanith (aftanith) Of course. :)

Andy | 136 comments yeah, well I don't think THIS is a series, either. ;-)
http://www.goodreads.com/series/79787...

I mean c'mon... two books that are already part of the Miss Marple series, and Rafiel is dead before Nemesis even begins???

(I know I could do it; I'm just looking for someone to share the blame.) ;-)

On a related note, do you think we could create a non-series series of all the Agatha Christie books that are NOT part of a series? (yeah, I'm a little bit nuts about stuff like this.) :-s

Thanks for reading.

I agree. Deleted it.

Andy wrote: "On a related note, do you think we could create a non-series series of all the Agatha Christie books that are NOT part of a series? (yeah, I'm a little bit nuts about stuff like this.) :-s"

You could definitely create a Listopia for that, yes. (But not an actual series listing.)

message 10: by Andy (new)

Andy | 136 comments Why is this a Listopia instead of a series? See here.

And amazingly enough, it links right back here to this thread. :-D

If I understand correctly, a Listopia is a collection of stuff that's not necessarily related to anything for people to vote on. It wouldn't actually be tied to Agatha Christie, would it? You'd have to be looking for it to find it. (shrugs) To my way of thinking, that'd be kind of pointless. :-s

Amara Tanith (aftanith) Andy wrote: "It wouldn't actually be tied to Agatha Christie, would it? You'd have to be looking for it to find it. (shrugs) To my way of thinking, that'd be kind of pointless."

It would appear under the "Lists with This Book" section of each of the added books, but yes, it would be mostly stumbled upon by people specifically searching Listopia for Agatha Christie-related lists.

The two reasons I could think of arguing for it would be:

A) If it were locked, it would be a "challenge" list, which at least a few Agatha Christie fans or groups might enjoy.

B) It'd be convenient for anyone with specific interest in reading her non-series works.

But, like you said, *shrug*

Definitely does not meet the must-apply-to-all-editions-of-each-book criterion. Gone.

I think a lot of those are legitimate - and the series is legit - but some of those books definitely don't belong there.

message 18: by Lobstergirl (new)

Lobstergirl It looks like the legit ones are published by Sterling and are all 48 pages.

message 19: by Moloch (last edited Dec 18, 2012 01:10AM) (new)

Moloch | 3975 comments Maybe I can start separating the editions that don't belong

EDIT: Seems like someone already removed the Pushkin work that led me to this series. Lobstergirl is probably right, I might get confused when I see different authors or I have a too strict concept of legitimate "series"

message 20: by Lobstergirl (new)

Lobstergirl I got a bunch of them but not all.

message 21: by Lobstergirl (new)

Lobstergirl I removed the Pushkin.

message 23: by Sandra (new)

Sandra | 31397 comments I'd say its a collection of unrelated graphic novels, though I don't speak Spanish.

Doesn't appear related by author, topic or publisher.

message 26: by Cait (new)

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Puzzlingly, The Other does not seem to be part of this series. The actual books were all written to be part of this series:

I don't believe this is a series just because the books were bundled together in a box set. They do not have any of the same characters or themes.
