I think I am officially behind...but only a couple chapters. There is a lot more going on than I remember - although this was the first classic novel I voluntarily read so maybe I was expecting more action at the time.

Aleksei really surprised me at the end of book 5 ch. 1 when he wouldn't give Lise's letter over to her mom, or even show it to her. Up until now he's seemed like the kind of person who wouldn't defy anyone.
