Time off for good reading?

Noticed in today's i newspaper that prisoners in Brazil are to be offered four days off their sentence for every book they read. Inmates in four prisons will be able to read up to 12 works of literature, philosophy, science or classics to trim up to 48 days off their sentence each year.

I can see they will have very well read criminals in Brazil!

How interesting. I wonder if they only allow certain genres.
