I love the winter too, but I don't know if living in Hawaii could ever be described as stinky - in fact I'm a little jealous :)

Welcome to the group Rachel

Haha! Maybe not the fact that I live in Hawaii, just that it never snows here :)

And thanks for the welcome! :)

Welcome Heather. Those two colors go together so well!

My favorite color is purple and my daugthers is green and I have actually scrapbooked some pictures of her in green and purple and they came out looking so good!

message 110: by Heather (new)

Heather (gargirl) | 6 comments Hi Tricia, thanks for the welcome. ^_^ The colors really do work well together. They were both part of my wedding gown.

Scrapbook seems like a fun hobby. My sister does it and really enjoys it. I keep busy with painting, reading, writing, crocheting, felting, baking and gaming so I have no time for a new hobby. I plan to try it sometime, maybe when I visit my sister. I bet your scrapbook is lovely.

Ooh I have heard good things about the Riley Jenson series, havent started it yet though. Whats it like?

I also love the Night Huntress sereis! :D It's on the top of my favorites list!

message 123: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (Literary Escapism) (literaryescapism) LOVE the Riley series! It has a new twist on the werewolf moon fever - they get horny instead of animalistic. Although I guess there is an argument for animalistic too. ;) It has mystery in it as well, but I love the interactions between Riley and the various men she encounters. Plus, the series is set in a futuristic Australia and that's kind of new to me. But I'm sad because the last book in the series will be published next fall.

Katt -
Ah sookie, I have been meaning to get these books but I have so many on my to read list! lol

My boyfriends sister and his mother talk about True Blood.. and I am like LA LA LA NO SPOILERS! lol

I may have to get them soon!

Jennifer -
Oh I love me some Urban Fantasy.. you know I used to love PR more but I am finding that I really think I love UF a whole lot more now then PR. I think I am just getting tired of sex all the time! lol. I like a good story and action in my books.

I guess it depends on my mood as well.

message 127: by Lu (new)

Lu I also loved the whole Sookie Stackhouse series!! And love True blood, just wish the second season would start here soon!

message 128: by ♦Jennifer♦ (new)

♦Jennifer♦ (thejenneral) | 83 comments Hey Tricia, I know what you mean. xD PR can be a bit overwhelming at times. Sometimes its just better when things start blowing up, and the hero/heroine starts kicking some major butt.

message 129: by Katt (new)

Katt Hey Lu, sorry that you haven't seen the second season yet. when is it shown in your country? Sept 13 will be the final on season two in the U.S. maybe when you start watching it we can dish about it.

message 130: by new_user (new)

new_user Yeah, I need a break from PNR sometimes myself, LOL.

message 131: by Lu (new)

Lu I actually have no idea when it will start here, Maybe November :( I'll start making happy posts when it does :)

message 132: by Ann (new)

Ann | 25 comments I have a question for everyone. I know very few people who are into books, movies, shows that have paranormal elements. I know that my preference started at a very young age. When/what age were you when you started to love paranormal/preternatural stories? Can you remember what sparked it? What book started your love for this genre?
I guess I need to answer since I asked. Right?
I was in middle school. I lived near the library so I went there every day after school while my parents worked. I always wondered into the science fiction area.
My favorite movies when I was a child were Willow, The Labyrinth,The Never Ending Story, and of course The Wizard of Oz.
I realized I tended to lean towards supernatural story lines when Dracula was a required reading in school and I read the whole thing months before we had to; something I never did.
Now I must admit I stopped reading after high school. You know life and all its interruptions. I saw Twilight and I liked it, I read that the book was way better, I read it, I loved it.
I searched the internet for things similar because I like vampires. I found the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by, J.R. Ward. End of story!!! I've been a goner ever since. Thank you Mrs. Ward...I am not worthy ( bow down-bow down)

message 133: by Ann (new)

Ann | 25 comments I have to add that my husband told me after we saw Lord of the Rings that he thought I would look sexy with pointy ears. HA! He's a closet fey lover. Shh don't tell anyone.

message 134: by Lu (new)

Lu I read mysteries in high school, but then also stopped for a bit (life can get in the way like that :P). Then i read Twilight and it sparked it for me as well Teresa! Been wanting more and more ever since :)

Christie (cibarra) Teresa wrote: "I have a question for everyone. I know very few people who are into books, movies, shows that have paranormal elements. I know that my preference started at a very young age. When/what age were you..."

In my intro I said I was new to the paranormal genre but after thinking about this question I realized I was wrong. I read quite a bit by Christopher Pike and RL Stine when I was in elementary and jr. high. That was probably my first exposure to a book with paranormal elements. I've loved movies/tv shows that have a fantasy setting for as long as I can remember.
