It use to be a book, but now it is my nook. I have to be able to read at any time. What if there is a traffic jam, or broken elevator, or natural disaster? I need my books. Oh and I guess my keys

For me it's always iPhone, purse, keys, mints, hair band and tissues. Also normally in my bag are random toys my daughter has "put away".
Sounds weird but the answer is...my rings! I always play with them when I'm nervous or thinking something through. :-)
A book of some kind whether it's on my kindle, a physical book, or an audiobook . Have to have something.
My IPad - it has my books on it, my notes, my email (when there's a wifi connection), my calendar (with reminders set up because I'm forgetful), entertainment for the kids, etc.. etc.. Really not sure how I managed without it!
My keys..haha..I'm seriously so low maintenance there's nothing I need to roll out the door except the car key..and if im not the one driving I don't even need that.
the usual essentials such as keys, wallet, cellphone, lip balm and more often than not, my kobo touch. :)
My iphone....not for keeping in touch but to have my book on hand for whenever I have a free second!!

2. Ipad (when it was alive)
3. vera bradly bag
4. Two year old (maybe she should be at the top)"
Yeah, probably at the top. Ha!
Irene wrote: "My phone and car/housekeys (I don't like breaking in at my own house)"Hahaha.. this is pretty much my list + a cranky two year old.
My HUGE %$# leather purse. Even when Im going NOWHERE I have all my crap in it. From keys to phones to my tissues nd lipchap...I need it all.
My phone most importantly. Not only because of the fact that if i get stranded I can call someone, but it has books on it in case I get bored. And when I go to work, earphones.
Lately, my kindle has been traveling with me. I need my bus pass, phone and MP3 player to make it through the day.
I cannot leave the house without my ereaders! Yep that is plural. I have to have both! Well my Nook and my Droid with the Kindle app but soon (like next week) I will have the Kindle Fire. I never know what will take place during the day so I have to know that I can read at any time.
- my phone, so I can read ebooks without being paranoid about their racy cover images on public transit...and to text people I guess LOL- my keys because my little brother never answers the door for me
- my wallet because I somehow end up in Shoppers Drug Mart a lot
- Fisherman's Friend lozenges because I'm that one person who can't stop coughing in public when the whole world decides to be quiet
- oil blotting sheets because my T-zone is equivalent to a frying pan
- and a smile on my face! ...along with my obnoxious sarcasm :)
Is it cheating if I say more? Keys, tissues, a pocket mirror, at least one pen and a notebook, a neutral colored lip product and my camera.
hmm let's see 1.my phone 2.my wallet 3.at least one book
My iPad mini so I can read instead of talking to randoms (what can I say sometimes I'm just not into people)My mascara (Texas girl...gotta have it)
Some sort of lip product (I fear having chappy lips)
My healthcare card because the one time I didn't have it, I had to go to the hospital and that shiz is expensive!
My id because sometimes girl just needs a drink!

Haha! So glad I'm past that point. Won't be long Benjamin until you can leave them. They grow up so fast.

LMBO Megan. I agree with you and that stinks you had to go to hospital with no card. That can be such a pain to fix.

I didn't used to be so clingy to my phone...until I started reading and listening to audio on it. Now I freak when I don't have it.

I have to take my phone everywhere I go! You never know if an emergency is going to pop up or if it's my day off and work calls me because they need me to come in etc.

The cell phone is a necessary evil now I guess. Back in the day (ha ha) there was no such thing and if you weren't near a phone you didn't talk. I can do without mine if it weren't for me listening and reading on it.
