Lina (tseeta) | 17 comments There are a lot of germans out there on the forum and on the chat and I was wondering, if anyone else lives in NRW/the Ruhrpott-area and is interested in a meetup to talk about the books and the awesomeness of Vaginal Fantasy?

I'm in Düsseldorf

Christoph | 2 comments Since i originaly am from Düsseldorf(or better Büderich) as well, i just had to throw in a "Hello". Unfortunately i live in Ireland atm, so no chance for a meetup, except if doing G+ ones^^

Aivien Whitfield | 10 comments Well, we talked about it in chat before, Zita^^, so I'll stick to what I said: that would be awesome. But Christoph actually made an interesting suggestion. An online meetup would be just as well. Especially considering that we wouldn't have to decide where to meet, in what city, no travelling bills and so on and so forth.
(Stupid me! Sitting at a laptop, being a nerd and all and NOT coming up with that myself? *is ashamed*)
I would have to get G+ even thou I tried to avoid it for months but it'd be worth it, I guess/hope.
There's one thing I'd like to know thou (it's not THAT important but I might not be alone with that): are we going to read the books in German or in English? I, personally, still prefer my mother tongue simply bc it's easier to read, obviously. I don't mind reading English and it wouldn't be the first time (narf). I was just wondering bc, as for the new book(s), I couldn't find the Duchess in German on the net so far. I couldn't even find the German NAME for it (bc, you know, on a lot of occassions they change the name in other languages).
At the end of the day it probably doesn't change anything, I could read them in English, too. It's just for the simplicity of things. Any thoughts?

Lina (tseeta) | 17 comments Tehe Christoph, I'll only move to Düsseldorf on the weekend, but I used to live in Ireland (Dublin) for a year, so this is funny :)

Well I thought it would be nice to meet up with a few people and have a live meeting. As the Ruhrpott-area is the most densely populated area in Germany I thought that maybe there are enough VF-fans there so we could have a get-together.

If there aren't enough people from the Ruhrpott-area - or additionally - we could of course have a hangout. There's a half-hearted plan here for a european hangout, but we could have one in german as well. I am on G+ but only ever had one test-hangout with the hubby, but as soon as I'm settled in the new flat (and have internet access) I'd be happy to organize it.

The german title of "nice rules to break" is apparently "Lehrmeister der Leidenschaft" (ugh what a horrible name) I didn't find a german version of "desperate duchesses" either.

I personally prefer reading books in their original language, I already got "nine rules" in english. I'm not sure if there is such a big difference though, unless they translate the names (which isn't common practice anymore) we should be fine I guess. But you're right, it would make referencing to certain passages easier. Maybe we could discuss a bad/good translation too, especially if we read in different languages. (I sometimes find myself picking translations apart, especially when it's not a good one, like direct translations of idiomatic expressions. It's quite distracting for me)

I'm from Iserlohn. Technically not really Ruhrpott but close (I work in Dortmund though) Never really tried a G+ hangout, but I would love to give it a try.

Personally I prefer reading the books in English.

kt (loonymoon) | 1 comments Hey there fellow Germans :) I'm from Bonn. I don't really think that I would do a discussion that much benefit cuz Master of Crows was my first smutty book ;) so I really don't have any books to compare it to. May be next year then... But I just wanted to say Hi and say that I'm really glad to meet other "Vaginale Fantasten" here.

Maren Daniela (marendaniela) | 10 comments Hi everybody, I'm from Cologne, but currently in Berlin. Are you guys getting together online/ offline any time soon/ at all? I'd really like to join you. I'm impartial to the language choice, but I will be reading the books in their original version. When I'm in Cologne I would love to be there, but I would also enjoy an online hangout in the mean time! Looking forward to finding out more as soon as possible. I'm excited. x Maren

Maren Daniela (marendaniela) | 10 comments hey guys, I really liked this month's VF books and I just realised there would be an international table top day event in Cologne/Köln on the 5th of April 2014 at the 'Overseas Club'... so I thought why not try and have a VF meet-up there, too!? beginning of April? anybody in?

Hey Maren - did not see your post in time for Tabletop Day - but in any case I am based in Cologne and definitely interested in a local (or online) meetup!
