I mishmash too Heather! I rarely read the same author in a row and I like to mix up settings/sub-genres. It can take me months or years to read the next book in a series ;)

Birthday: 6/14Favorite Color: All shades of purple, sunset orange/pink, high powered LED traffic light green
Favorite Food: Tacos!
First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): Oh goodness, I used to gorge myself on RL Stine books as a kid. When I graduated from Goosebumps to Fear Street I remember a Fear Street novel that had some romance in it and I've loved it ever since!
Favorite Romance Genre: Urban Fantasy/Paranormal romance <3
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... I have candles and lotions that smell like my book boyfriends, my sisters and I call each other up unexpectedly and randomly pretending to be a radio show host and ask each other book trivia questions for a chance to win a date with our book boyfriends, my #1 reason for loss of sleep is staying up until all hours of the night reading "just one more chapter." Basically, I'm obsessive and weird and have absolutely no shame about it!

Hi, I am Rebecca and I am a book addict. I would rather read than watch TV (except for anything with Benedict Cumberbatch or any Outlander character). I have a 5yr old male cocker spaniel. My profile photo is of him at about 6 months.
Favorite food: Italian and Ice Cream
Hobbies: knitting is #1~~fir me it is easier to knit and listen than knit and watch. #2 is needle work: sewing, cross stitch, and needlepoint.
At my age I have to engage in safe sports so I walk, bike, and go to a gym for weights. in 2017 I want to begin yoga lessons.
I only began reading romance in my late 60's after my husband became terminally ill, my next door neighbor lent me a couple of Sarah MacLean's scottish books and I was hooked, Now I read almost anything although I prefer British Historicals, slightly edgy romance and even some dark. Generally no time travel or fantasy; requires too much suspended disbelief ~~ of course that does not include Cumberbatch and Outlander.
I don't have a favorite writer but prefer British Old School Romance for most of my reading. However I have discovered several comtem writers i love Christina Lauren, Emma Chase and others like them. Also Maya Banks both contemporary and historical. Since I am physically older than most of you on here; I do enjoy a book adult romance, no YA (mostly those are too far outside my sphere of interest.) I do have favorite narrators: Sebastian York, Rebecca De Leeuw, Rosalyn Landor; to name a few.
During the latter part of 2016 I began exploring more romance genres. So have come to Goodreads and this group to broaden my knowledge. Thank you for accepting me into your ranks. I look forward to learning from all of you.
Lol Bri - I love those radio host interviews with your sisters! I'd be scrabbling that first time...Wow Rebecca ~ that's later in life to find romance! How wonderful - a whole new world to explore. I was always a closet Mills & Boon reader (Harlequin for those in the US) but my parents frowned on those when I was a teenager. So I didn't really find great books in romance (other than Georgette Heyer which Mum approved & I still love) until I joined GR in 2009. And I thought I was late in my early 40s..
Welcome to both of you!!
Better late than never to find good books Rebecca! And for me, good books equal romance. =) Glad to have you here, I'm sure you will get lots of new ideas for your reading!

Birthday: January 14thFavorite Color: Navy, turquoise
Favorite Food: big ole juicy steak, sushi, enchiladas, cake
First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): Forever by Judy Blume... in the 3rd grade. Probably a little too early to learn about quivering loins and losing your precious flower, but I had finished off the children's section of the library and was forced to move to the YA section. (Clearly this is not a new addiction)
Favorite Romance Genre: Mostly contemporary, but I'll try anything once and some of my favorites are in paranormal/erotica/suspense as well.
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... I'm about to graduate from medical school in May and I've read well over 400 books in the past year (none of which were medical...whoops). I spend more time on my iPad/iPhone/computer reading than I do probably anything else. (I swear I'm going to be a good doctor...)
I'm new to the group and goodreads in general, and am excited to find a community of people that share my favorite hobby and passion! :)
Birthday: April 3Favorite Color: Red
Favorite Food: Spaghetti
First Romance Novel Read: Lady Chatterley's Lover
Favorite Romance Genre: Erotic Romance
I'm a book addict because reading gets your imagination going and makes you creative.
Hey Roberta and Morgan - welcome! Morgan - all doctors need balance in their life, and I'd say a romance reading doctor is right on the money!!And I totally agree Roberta - reading encourages your mind and imagination. Your brain needs exercise along with your body ~ GO books!!

Welcome Simant and Moni!! Simant - I googled Paani Puri and they look delicious!
Moni - I really enjoyed Deception when I read that 7 years ago. I was late to the party on some of the good romance books ;) Amanda Quick aka Jayne Castle aka Jayne Ann Krentz was my fav author for quite a while. I haven't read a book of hers though in a few years though. I should dip my toe in again :)

I know I'm a book addict because: I have 1 Nook, 4 Kindles and 4- 5 shelf bookcases and 1-3shelf bookcase over flowing with paper back books. My husband keeps telling me not to buy any more I won't have time to read them :-)
I love my Kindle(s) - they have saved me and my house!! They also keep my hubby from complaining about how many books I buy! =)And - yum, chocolate!!
And please remove your complete birthdate - this is an open group and anyone could see it. We all need to protect our personal information these days!!
LOL - well, you must be spoilt for choice when working out what to read next Vicki! 4 Kindles is pretty good going ;) (I will admit to being constantly tempted to upgrade my ereader, but currently resisting the call ;)
Birthday: January 25Favorite Color: Peacock Green
Favorite Food: Saffron risotto or risotto alla milanese, as we call it in Italy
First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): Little Women
Favorite Romance Genre: Contemporary-romance
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because as a child I would have even faked (or at list try to) a fever just to stay at home from school and finish the very engaging book that I was not able to put down. As an adult I can't do that anymore, but I take my Kindle everywhere I go and I always run out of space on my home's bookshelves. When I want to give a personal gift to someone I often opt for a book, for it always tells something about both the giver and the recipient.
Jane (PS) wrote: "LOL - well, you must be spoilt for choice when working out what to read next Vicki! 4 Kindles is pretty good going ;) (I will admit to being constantly tempted to upgrade my ereader, but currently ..."The last Kindle I bought was a refurbished one and it filling with my new books. I find new books from the groups I've joined and always find more when on Amazon. and I buy more than I planned. I'm truly addicted.

Lol - I think we all help those romance authors & publishers along; this group will only enable more $$$ on books! Beware ;)
Montana Sky was my first NR book, not my first romance though! We all spend too much on books - if there is such a thing!
Birthday: September 7Favorite Color: I don't actually have a favorite color. I wear a lot of grey and blue.

Alexandra J wrote: "Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... I have several hundred books and not enough house to store them. That is how it worked in my family too, my grandmother was a librarian and no one in the family goes anywhere without a book! (Or ereader!)
Don't feel like you are the only one Louise re Twilight!! Harry Potter got me reading again, but Twilight sucked me back into romance without a doubt!!!...and everything goes better with gold, doesn't it ;)
Hey, whatever it takes to get you reading and if it's romance so much the better! And I'm jealous that you have a library! (Even though for me ebooks are so much easier!)
