Maybe do like they do at county fairs, and first bread it, put it on a stick, then deep-fry it! THEN dip it in chocolate! OOOH! Lettuce! Yum! ;-D
Hi,my name is Nancy and I am new to this thread, although I've been on GR for a while. I loved Elaine's post and if you ever get that chocolate/lettuce thing figured out and it drops the pounds, let me know!Birthday: July 27
Favorite Color: Pink or Purple or Blue or Red, depends on the day
Favorite Food: potato chips and chocolate - not necessarily together, although I've eaten that, too
First Romance Novel Read: probably something by Georgette Heyer, Victoria Holt, or Phyllis Whitney - after I outgrew Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden for being too 'tame'
Favorite Romance Genre: all of them except some paranormals
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because (1)I can't go anywhere, even to church without a book in my purse [after all, you never know when the pastor may need to take a break in the middle of the service and you would have to have something to do, right?] and (2) I have somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 books in my TBR stacks, shelves, tubs, etc. My husband counted them at one point and came up with about 1,000 - I didn't tell him about the plastic tubs full that I have stashed here and there throughout the house and under the beds, so the total is probably closer to 2,000 but I'm not telling him! (at least until he trips over them!)

I love contemporary romance and women's fiction-- in fact, I write it. I also like the occasional historical romance. I know I'm a book addict because I make sure I never run out fresh books to read-- kinda like a junkie making sure he always has a stash!

Forgot to post my First Romance Novel. I don't remember the title but it definitely was a Harlequin. My mother was so mad that my grandmother got me hooked on them. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents on weekends and she always had a carton top filled with Harlequins and I would just start reading. My mother always called them my "smut" books. I've been reading romance since I was in high school.

Hi folks - It is great to know there are so many avid readers out there. Here's something a little out of the ordinary about myself: I'm horrible at making crafts. I didn't receive the craft gene. My projects always look wonky, as if a child made them. I'm not proud of that, but am just being honest. :/
Anyone else lousy at anything, and care to share?

Hi Lynne.
You should see the drawings I try to make. The people in it usually end up looking like horses or frogs. i stopped drawing the moment I left primary school.
Lynne, I can honestly say that although I rock with a sewing machine, I've been trying to teach myself how knit since I was pregnant the first time. My oldest is now 8 yrs old and I still haven't figured out how to get past the first row. lol And while I'm at it I may as well admit that the creative gene seems to have skipped me in my family. I can't scrapbook either. lolLynne wrote: "Hi folks - It is great to know there are so many avid readers out there.

I think the secret is to dip the lettuce in chocolate. Oh, right, that would defeat the purpose - but it'd probably taste good.
