I would read it. I want to know what high school life is like for him after Patrick and Sam leave. However, I don't know how that would go over. I think another book but for Sam or Patrick would be really cool :)

Yes! I would love to see what happens to Charlie! He is such an interesting character. I love how unique he is.
I loved this book, but I would leave it at that. I think a sequel could ruin the magic of it. It's fantastic on its own. I think I'd find him more relate-able as a teen, rather than an adult as well. I like Charlie as he is, and to read a second book, only to find that he's grown up and acts like everyone else does would be sad.
I think a sequel would be ill-advised. These characters exist perfectly in this time and space. However, if any of them were to make a (very brief) cameo in one of Chbosky's future novels, that would be kinda cool. I like it when authors check in on their creations from time to time. Just to make sure they're doing ok.
Mikela wrote: "i would read the sequel. But I think this is one of those books that doesn't need a sequel. It's just perfect alone."I gobbled up every single word of the first book but personally, I believe that if there was a sequel and I read it, it would ruin my perspective of the first book. Like Mikela said, it's one of those books that doesn't need a sequel.
I would. I want to know what happened to Charlie and what happened to their friendship. I want to know what changes happened in his life and if he really did "participate".
I don't know if it would be as good though. Check out my webcomic, updates every Thursday: http://reddkaiman.blogspot.com/2013/0...
I enjoyed the first, but its a coming of age story revealed. I doubt the Author would have enough plot tricks to keep you interested. Sequels seems like a bad idea. Come up with a new idea.
I would read it because I loved the characters. But according to me, I don't see the point. The book ended perfectly.
I think I would. Tough since I loved this one, I'd just be pretty scared it wouldn't be as good. And the sad fact is, that many times sequel sucks. Maybe this books is better as a stand-alone book, but I would still read the sequel, because - one of my many reasons - Charlie is very nice and adorable character.
Probably. But I don't really think The Perks need a sequel. I guess the book is great as it is, and the story was written because of something important that marked one of the characters and made it all develop in the way that it did. Writing a sequel will somehow take away part of its intensity, importance and meaning.
Absolutely! I loved the book and I just recently watched the movie. So cute! Goes to show you what different tastes people have.
I would definatly read a sequel to the book, however, I feel as though the book is a stand alone, as some of you have said. It's not really sequel material. The book was absolutley beautifully put together, but it's 1 book. To write a sequel would be murder to the story.
Considering I didn't even finish the first book, I probably wouldn't read a second one. But, I do think it would be pretty cool to find out what happened to Charlie afterwards. I did love the movie.
Amelia wrote: "guys can someone get me this book word fromat? i have pdf,but i hate reading pdf, please :) anyone?"hi , you can convert it yourself , do you have a pdf adobe reader ? open your pdf then save as choose the "word doc." , i hope i helped , just feel to ask me anything =)
sequel ? for me not , i love how the story ends , i want to keep ot tahta way , the sad feeling of the book , i dont want to spoiled it anymore =)xoxo
I have to say I'm on the fence with this one. It would be great to know how it all really turned out and whether or not his life turned out okay, but then again this book is perfect the way that it is. The ending is full of hope and the promise of some real change in his life, there's really nothing better to ask for. What about this: this whole story told from the view of the person receiving the letters and how Charlie's struggle affected the recipient's life.

Yes, but if it wasn't good I would try to forget about it. I would like to see how he changed and who his friends are and if he is with Sam.
This book had such a HUGE impact and message on it's own that a sequel would just throw it off. I feel like the anticipation of a new book would be far to great and end with disappointment due to how great this novel is.
I love this book too much to want a sequel- I'd have very high expectations, and I'd hate to be disappointed. The story is perfect as it is!
I would definitely read sequel to this!! Loved the story, characters and plot!! Great read and this book really improved my view of high school!
Although I absolutely adored this book, I believe that a continuation could only lead to a disappointing read. The sense of hope the last book has would have to be shattered for there to be a sequel, and then that ruins the feelings I've had towards the first. This is definitely a stand alone book.
Yes. I always read the sequels, however I fear it wouldn't meet my high standards after reading the first. Here's to hoping!
I would love to read a sequel. I am obsessed with finding what happens next to Charlie, Patrick, and Sam. There is so much matereial to use as a sequel, such as starting the sequel with Charlie graduating high school. Starting from that point, we can see Charlie's and Sam's relationship into early adulthood and see how it would turn out. I am praying and hoping a sequel will be made. I also would also love to see what happens with Patrick
i'd love to read the sequel. Maybe describing more about the character's life in University. Then their Big Reunion.
Yes it would see with time past with the same enjoyable characters.
I love how strong it is as a standalone but I enjoyed the story so much that I wouldn't mind reading a sequel, it would be interesting to see what the plot would be and how the characters have evolved :)
