6/25 What's on your reading list this week?

I've got going Husband and Wife: A Novel and Wild Thing. Both are good so far.

I am about 3/4 of the way through Ran Away, the latest in the Benjamin January series. I have really enjoyed these books and especially admire how Hambly portrays cultural and political interactions in 1830s New Orleans.

I just finished the first chapter of A Prayer for Owen Meany (not much time to read these days or I would be further in). It's good so far, if a bit slow.

Vicky I hope you get the chance to go to NYC it's worth it. Makes you appreciate where your from but also NYC lives up to all you've heard and imagined. The good, the bad, and the fun.

I think there are about 10 in the series. The first is A Free Man of Color. Just a few months ago I actually gave up reading The Shirt On His Back, the only one in the series I ever gave up on. But I'm going to go back and try it again because I think it was my mood, not the book.

I'm reading Physics for Entertainment, which I'm really enjoying, and The Somnambulist which I am loving despite it's weird quirky-ness. Also hope to start The Last of the Last: The Final Survivor of the First World War later this week.

I love the Benjamin January series and didn't know there was a new one. Will check it out. I'm reading State of Wonder and I hate to put it down. Also started Stephen White's Line of Fire.

I'm reading various books on the Band of Brothers group and in between for fiction am reading, "Gone To Soldiers," which is a World War 2 fiction book a friend recommended. It's kind of soap opera ish so far. That's not a bad thing necessarily but it's not why I was thinking this would be. Still this friend has very trusted book taste and I'm only 35 pages in out 800 (eek!) so we will see!

Leslie, Gone to Soldiers remains soapish throughout.

I really enjoyed state of wonder - it makes you think about medicine and just how it comes to be in a little pill -

I'm reading The Beach House (there are several out there - this one is by Jane Green). I just picked up Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, too. Heard good things about this book. :)

I read this book a few years ago and I enjoyed it. Depends on your mood, I guess.

I'm reading Best Staged Plans. It's the perfect summer read...light and breezy for my 110+ days :)
