You never really found out if she was set free or not, but you actually find out that all demigods are being treated equally in the end of the book.
As to why she's making an appearance, i don't know. Maybe she'll help out Percy on the quest like Rachel did.
I really love that girl. I think Percy likes her as much as Annabeth likes Luke. You know that Annabeth never really completely let go of Luke and Percy probably feels the same way about Calypso. Like in the lost hero when Jason asked Annabeth who Luke was, she got touchy and Jason figured out that Percy probably wasn't the only person Annabeth liked. And Annabeth and Percy try not to talk about Calypso or Luke. Like when Annabeth asked him where he went in TBOTL he vaguely said he was marooned on a island.oh! and no!! Calypso should absolutely not hook up with Leo!
Great comparison and I agree that maybe Percy has some lingering feelings about Calypso....LOL Leo needs the perfect girl to ship w/. Perhaps Hazel? Man, Hazel's already been shipped....

done done annnd done. Ok back to Calypso. The only bad part about it is that Rick says that Calypso's only going to shown for a brief amount of time. I hope it's not too brief. Hopefully she'll be in for a whole chapter. Or two. Heck, make it half the book and i'd jump off the empire state building (truthfully, i hope i won't have to). But I don't think she got over him and I don't think that she'll hook up with someone else(SHE BETTER NOT!) but yeah, it kinda is a 50/50 chance.
