I've been looking over the messages posted here at the Royal Academy and I was wondering if anyone wanted to discuss books for a change?

For instance, I've been reading this great story about this guy who works as a carpenter and he's got the brain sickness or something and he hears people talking to him. There's a bunch of other characters too, like this guy Peter and this chick named Mary and they've all got like schizophrenia or something. Anyway, the roman doctors try this new treatment on the main character where they nail him to a big pole and put like a brain fixing crown on his head but it doesn't work and he still hears voices. The book is sort of silly but its a great review of ancient roman medicine. I forget the name, I think its one of the harry potter books.

Yes I have read something similar, I could be wrong but I think that storyline was adapted from a Mel Gibson movie. My biggest knock on the book is that they only use some of the stories and omit the truly powerful episodes like the one where the white cop and black cop are forced to jump into a bathtub together while the black cop was in the middle of a self induced bowel emptying procedure for fear that the feces-receptacle would blow up. There was so much more hard proof in that story, I mean an actual message was delivered via toilet tissue. Paper trail proof in hard to come by.
