I am one of the advisors for the Mock Printz Book at Eva Perry Library, and this is one of the books getting a lot of attention and praise. Has anyone in this group read it? The teens are really liking this book for its great characters. They also praise the realism, citing that it is "so real."

Don't think it has Printz possibilities though.
I really enjoyed this one! It was super realistic, which made it so much better. Probably not Printz worthy, though. But still a fabulous read!
I agree it was super realistic, but I didn't feel like it had an ending. I was expecting something bigger from the characters - like a real aha moment, but it happened kind of without notice. I think it is great for discussion, but not a Printz.
Interesting. So far, it is the teen group's favorite book. They feel it really captures the teen voice of today. Although there wasn't an aha moment at the end, it ended realistically, without a big bang. Personally I don't think it's the best book of the year, but the teens are super impressed.
I really enjoyed this one and I love Vivian's realistic characters, but I agree that it is not a Printz novel. If you haven't read Not That Kind Of Girl you should, it is one of my all time favorite YA books.
I really enjoyed this story because the plot was so realistic! At first, there were many characters introduce too quickly but after I continued to read, I felt Vivian did a good job keeping the characters organized. I agree with you Lindsey that it is a very good example of what is happening in high schools today. I'll be sure to read "Not That Kind of Girl" because I really enjoyed reading Vivian's work.

It was a great way to allow the reader to "Get to know" each character.
I liked this book because it was realistic and something that teens could relate to, especially the different personalities of the characters, but there felt like there was something missing to it, it needed a hits-you-straight-in-the-face-moment, and the ending was realistic too, but i was expecting something more to it, but all in all it was good.
