We have to take breaks from the rainbow. I am reading a book now that will not count on the rainbow, but I have wanted to read it for a long time. I figure I can do rainbow books during the toppler.

Judy wrote: "Good reminder with The Angel's Game, Almeta, that is the only one of the series I haven't read."I love to be reminded of the Cemetery of Forgotten Books. I want to go there!
This one still has me thinking. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but I can say that now that I have completed the book, I question my entire perspective of the story. I may have to read it again to see if I missed clues, or if I'm just crazy.
Very much want to converse with someone about this one!

Judy wrote: "Good reminder with The Angel's Game, Almeta, that is the only one of the series I haven't read."I have this book - picked it up at a used book sale. Now I just need to get and read the first book in the series.
I'm making myself nervous with the number of series I've got going - or want to get going!
Janice wrote: "I'm making myself nervous with the number of series I've got going - or want to get going! ..."The Angel's Game is kind'a a prequel to The Shadow of the Wind. Some characters here pre-date the first novel. That's why I feel I should re-read the first.
I'll be re-reading the second just to wrap my mind around it!
I think this is loosely a series because of the Cemetery of Forgotten Books. Both books can stand alone.
Then there is of course the real prequel The Rose of Fire, which I think is only available in ebook editions. I believe it will also stand alone.

That's good to know. Maybe I will read Angels Game first. It's hard to tell which of these series are stand alone (like many mystery novels that feature the same detective) or need to be read in order. And now there are books .5 in a series. Argh!!

I can't believe that I just finished a Red book for the rainbow, only to realize as I began to score it that there was nary an R in the author's name. Urgh!
ooooooooo.....that IS a bummer! I took my daughter with me to the library for the sole purpose of helping me find a red book with an author's last name beginning with R. There really aren't that many out there! Anyway, my daughter found one for me. It's not the greatest, but it is easy to read. The Kissing List
Hey Janice, I just noticed that in reporting my Orange book in my messages 138 and 197, that I failed to count points for having the book cover and the title both being Orange. I altered those messages and added 10 more points to my total score.I don't know how you are keeping track of all of this, but if you are tallying each book...then give me 5 more points each for
Janice wrote: "Ouch! I hope it was at least a 4 star to have made it worth your while."I gave it a 3, but don't really consider it a waste of time. I am going to read the next in the series. The mystery wasn't that exciting but I enjoyed reading about "downstairs" life of the servants of a 1900s rich American household (The Studebakers). The heroine is a stubborn and superstitious Lutheran Swede and her love interest (which she denies) is a fiery Irishman, who is Catholic (Saints Preserve Us!☺) I’m interested in taking another peek at their relationship with each other and the households that they occupy.
Plus I counted it in my "Read 52 States & DC Challenge", as my Indiana book.
(Hmph..Well... I guess I just wrote my review!)

No, no...no more orange jokes please! I feel like I'm going to turn into a pumpkin for Halloween :)You're doing so great in this challenge Almeta, you might have to come up with a "How to..." list for the Rainbow Challenge :)
Janice wrote: "I wish someone would write me a "how to" list on how to track this challenge. *ostrich*"I do not envy you and the job ahead. I can't accurately keep track of my own points. Mind-boggling to think of tracking the entire group.
Bet that doesn't make you feel better, huh?

These darn tickers are all built for expectant couples. The "Anniversary" one was better than the "Expecting a Baby" one.
