Several Profiles for the same Author

See Anton Chekhov he has English and Russian one but could also have other language profiles if the books have been translated in to those languages
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
The policy is where a book has been translated then the English name should be the primary author allowing all editions to be combined, other language versions of the authors name are then added in the secondary, tertiary positions etc. If a book has not been translated then there is no requirement for any other profile/author name other than the original language name.
Profiles in the same language should be merged and if doubt about the appropriate name - then consult the library of congress entry for the author
Edit: I think this is a clearer statement
If books have been translated from the original language then the roman version of the name should be placed in the primary position of each book with the other language name in the secondary position. This allows combining of the same editions of books. If the book has not been translated then the original language author name can be in the primary author position.

2 profiles for the same writer. It seems I can't fix it. Can anyone help?
Thank you:)
Which spelling should be written while adding a new book? I usually add his original Turkish spelling so I can combine the books of different translations.
But it doesn't looks neat that each book has several Authors (The same author different spelling, different profiles) to connect them all to the edition.
Sometimes there are more than one Author and each has 2 profiles, for example:

several Authors for the same book, all has 2 profiles
Is there another solution? What is the proper action?
and When can I merge to profiles?
Thanks
