In Death Unplugged : If there HAD to be a spin off series...

It may seem to be a little offbeat but creating a series around Nadine Furst would be awfully interesting. Think about her life and the investigative nature of what she does...it would be a different angle and still involving the detectives. And, her love life could probably be a series by itself:)

I agree I like the idea of Nadine having a series of her own. I also think Louise DiMotto and Charles Monroe could be interesting.

I do, too, Dee. I love them as a couple and theirs is an unusual relationship.

I agree. Nadine. She investigates crime around the city and works with cops, but you'd get different kinds of crimes (not just the gruesome murders), and see it from the "story" perspective, rather than the procedural one.

Its been awhile but I'll give this a little bump :)

I think a spin off focusing on Nadine would be awesome! Actually, I know it would be awesome based from that tiny scene in whichever book where she sends her assistant (?) out for cigarettes wearing her coat and carrying her umbrella and she gets murdered? We see Nadine in that scene dealing with her producers and up to the you know death of it all, it was fun.

Nadine loves glitz and glamor and romance so we'd see that side (the stuff that Eve doesn't like) but we'd also see her chasing down stories.

I don't think Charles and Louise would work as well. Their both doctors and this could my blind naiveté speaking but snark is a huge part of these series and I don't see dedicated Dr. Louise and Licensed Sex Therapist Charles coming home and snarking on their patients. Isn't there some sort of confidentiality? Whatever. Could be that I've never read a series based on doctors before but I don't think it would work. Maybe when he was still a LC it would have been interesting.

The adventures of Summerset and Galahad while mom and dad aka Eve and Roarke aren't at home. The dialogue wouldn't be much since only Summerset would talk but Galahad can carry an attitude like no other. Human or feline.

First, a spinoff with Nadine would not only be interesting, it would also include this woman's very active social life. That could also be...well, you get the idea.

You know, Summerset and Galahad would be brilliant but I think I would like a prequel more than a spin off. It would focus on Summerset, his time in the Urbans his romance with Marlena's mother and it would end either when he takes Roarke in and raises him as his own or shortly after Marlena is murdered oooor right after Roarke kills the last man who took part in Marlena's murder. And I think the novellas (cause we all know that Nora loves a novella for this world)it would be 2060 Summerset worrying over Roarkes love life before Roarke met Eve. Summerset REALLY worrying over Roarkes love life AFTER Summerset meets Eve and Summerset running around being Summerset-y.

In my head I see Summerset doing laundry..fussing over some blood stains on Eve's shirt or something or folding Roarkes underpants while bouncing insult ideas off Galahad. The entire time Galahad would just sit there, raising one kitty eyebrow at Summerset before regally leaving the room.

I hadn't thought about Summerset pre Roarke/Eve and that's a good idea.

I was thinking about a Galahad having little thought clouds where we'd know what he was thinking. Just imagine what was going through his mind when he helped save Eve in [b]Naked in Death, when he was playing with the replica of himself, etc.

I think summerset and galahad in a cozy mystery spinoff would be fun.
