      Actually, my dad used to use both those to safely remove bats from our house without injuring them (or him). We had a bat problem where they were getting into the duct work (they were really small bats) and would come out just before midnight (one or two would crawl out of a floor vent for a few weeks). Ah, I see. I was trying to use a cobweb broom to deter him from my favourite vintage clothes, and accidentally hit him. I felt so bad for the poor little fella.

He was just like the battery operated one I bought for my office a few years ago - he went around and around and around and around - hours of fun, without the nylon string attached!
