As soon as she stepped foot into the building, he kind of regretted it. His keen tuned ears were irritated by the noise, but he knew they would get use to it eventually as they instinctively powered down to lessen the pain. Meanwhile, he looked behind him to make sure Vera had followed and also sweeped the crowd with his eyes to find Beth.
Beth raced into strobe lights in white shorts a black tanktop and a gold belt slung low on her hips blond hair dry and In Loose waves.
Vera followed closely behind Noct. The crowd here was huge and Vera knew it would be very easy to get lost. Finally she spotted Beth and waved.
As soon as Noctis saw Beth, he sighed in relief, though when he planned to confront her, he came to believe he would not be heard, but he tried anyway."Beth!" He called, keeping his eyes keen on the blonde maiden.
Beth walked over to noct and vera. "In the club you talk like this," she said loudly into their ears. "Otherwise you cant really be heard," she said.
Vera nodded, her head pounding from all the loud music and flashing disco lights. She pointed to the nearby bar. "I think I'll get a drink." she shouted.
Vera nodded. "Sure!" she called back. Her throat was already dry from shouting and with so many people in one large room, it was unbearably humid. Plus, Vera was sure this was violating a fire hazard rule or something. She went over to the bar. "What'll it be miss?" the bartender asked. "I'll get a... martini." Vera started. Then she thought about what Beth would want. Finally, not knowing what to say, she just settled for saying, "Make that two." The bartender nodded and within 5 minutes, came back with two martinis. Vera paid for the drinks and walked back to Beth, careful not to spill anything. "I didn't know what to get you so..." she shouted, trailing off at the last part and handing Beth a martini.
Noctis had flinched a little when Beth had yelled into their ears, and his mind began ringing like the outcome of being hit by a grenade -- that eerie sound of silence except he could still hear the techno music in the background. He wasn't really a drinker, given the last time he had drank was a huge mistake -- then again, it was back when he was hunan. Maybe as a Vampyre, he would have less of an issue.
Vera took a tiny sip of her drink. "Do you want anything?" she asked Noct, getting closer to him so she wouldn't have to scream.
Beth nodded. "This is what I always get thanks," she put enough money for her drink in vera's hand. She took a sip of her martini grinning.
Noctis glanced at the drink in Vera's hand, recognizing it was a Martini, however, he could not smell it like he usually would because his vampyre senses were clouded by the numerous scents of other people."Eeerrr…" he groaned, clearly in conflict."Uh," he mumbled. Eh, getting drunk couldn't hurt if it was still even possible -- after all, his brain was still working… otherwise, he wouldn't be able to think -- especially not as much as he does."Yeah," he answered, raising his voice slightly so she could hear him."Are martini's good?" He asked, glancing at it with slight intrigue.
Vera smiled at Beth and then turned back to Noct. "I really don't know. This is my second time drinking one and to me it just tastes... weird." she said. Then Vera blushed. She had used such a stupid adjective to describe a martini. "It never hurts to try though." she added.
Beth nodded. "Sorry about the music its loud I learned if you focus on one of your senses the others will dull down and the other will amp up I'm focusing on taste focus yours on sight for now," she sakd into his ear not yelling but talking loudly enough for him to hear.
Noctis stared at the drink a little while longer as he listened to Beth's instruction. He nodded, tuning in on his sight, and sure enough, his other senses tuned down a little. It would be a little harder to hear people talk, but at least the sound was not nearly as bothersome. He then decided to go for something extreme, just to experiment."Can you get me a Long Island Iced Tea?" He asked Vera. This drink included three different mixtures of other really alcoholic drinks. He just wanted to know how different a Vampire's mind worked.
Vera nodded and went back over to the bar. "Can I have a Long Island Iced Tea?" she asked the bartender. He gave her the evil eye. "I hope you're not drinking all of those drinks by yourself missy." he warned. Vera blushed. "No, the other martini and the Long Island Iced Tea are for my friends." she said quickly. The bartender nodded and came back with the drink. Vera set down some money for Noct's drink and the money Beth had given her. She took the drink back to Noct and handed it to him.
Beth raised her eyebrows suprisdd he knew what that was. She grinned taking another sip of her martini.
"Thanks," he told Vera, taking the drink in his hand. He laughed absently, not really being able to believe he was drinking. He glanced at Beth to make sure she was still there and smiled sheepishly -- noticing the expression on her face."I've had it before," he proclaimed, referring to his glass. He took a small sip of his drink, surprised to feel that it didn't really effect him nearly as much as it done before."Hm, I guess you can't get intoxicated when you're a vampyre," he murmured thoughtfully, taking another cautious sip.
Beth grinned to herself. Of course she had already known that. She heard a song come one that she liked by paramore and started to swing her hips to the beat.
Noctis was not all too familiar with the band, however, he had heard one, two, or three of their songs. He didn't know the name of one of the songs he had heard, but he had heard it so much from so many places, it got annoying. His eyes twinkled with amusement. Her dancing wasn't bad, it was just interesting to see someone get into the music with such fervent heed.
Vera stood motionless. She wasn't the type to start dancing like Beth. She finished her drink and went to sit down. Maybe she could dance later.
"Uuuh," he looked behind, expecting to see some guy behind it that Beth happened to find attractive or something, but there was no one that was looking at Beth as if she were talking to them."Me?" He asked in disbelief, looking uncertain."I… I don't dirty dance, I don't think I can," he murmured with an apologetic voice. If he could, he would alter his personality and make himself a lewd, drunk, douche so that he would dance with her, but he couldn't.
She raised her eyebrows. "I um requested the next song to be...." she trailed off as the next song came out of the speakers. It was a song perfect for slow dancing. She saw a whole bunch of people pair up and start to dance. "I know the dj," she murmered.
He wasn't so fond of the idea of slow dancing with a practical stranger, but at least it was something different. Talking one more sip of his drink, he set it down on the nearest table and got closer to Beth."Ok, this is something I can do," he murmured, offering her his hand so she would get into position.
She took his hand a little hesitant she did think noctis and her would be good friends but she didn't really know him that well yet but she took his hand anyway. Guess we need to start somewhere she thought shrugging. She got in position and started to dance. She swayed side to side dancing slowly.
"You can slow dance too, right?" He asked, grabbing her other hand and guiding her slowly, as if he were afraid she would fumble with the steps. She could sway her hips, he knew that, but could she really actually dance? Then again, the fact that she came here said she was likely to be able to.
She smiled nodding doing the steps perfectly. "My many years of existence have given me time to master a lot of things she said with a laugh. "I was a dance instructor for a couple years," she said talking and dancing.
"Oh, so you aren't just skilled at dancing, dancing is a hobby?" He nodded as if he was going to save that in memory."I'm a bit of a musician even if I do say so myself," he murmured, still performing the dance. Now that they were also talking about normal things, it made the dancing feel less awkward.
"Oh what do you play," she said intrested. "I love music," she admits. "That's why I like the club so much," she said shrugging.
"I play many things, but I like to play the violin the most, and the guitar," he informed her, his contemplation wondering to the side at the rest of the couples before he glanced back down at Beth."What genres of dance do you do?" He asked.
She grinned. "I like hip hop and the tango but I also like ballet a lot," she admitted. "I've been doing ballet for a while," she said honsetly. "But I can do mostly every type of dance," she said.
"I suppose you've had lots of time to practice," he murmured, letting go of one of her hands and slowly twirling her around so it matched the pace of the song."I can only do some of the simple things," he murmured, referring to dancing."I can move to a fast rhythm when I play, but I can't move any other time, really." As the song ended, his body lossed tension he hadn't known he was holding. Perhaps he had been nervous the whole time, but now that he thought about it, it hadn't been too bad."Thanks, that was pretty fun -- it was ok..." He murmured, letting her go.
She nodded not saying anything. "I guess Im gonna go dance for a little while. A new some came on that was fast and she realized if was party rock anthem by lmfao she waved to noct and dissapeared in the crowd and started dancing with a guy but noticing it wasn't as entertaining as the slow dance she wrapped her fingers in the guys belt loops trying not to think about it as there hips moved in sink.
Noctis looked around the table and grabbed his drink, picking it up and sipping from it again. When he turned to see how Beth was doing, he was surprised to see her fingers in another guys belt loops, making his eyebrows furrow in apprehension."Oh my," he murmured with a small laugh, glancing about until he found Vera again. Walking up to her, he sat beside her."What's up?" He asked with a slight laugh, obviously just being plain silly.
Beth looked over at noctis staring at his face for a minute and turning away before he saw her staring once the song was over she went to the bar asking for mike's hard lemonde. The bartender shrugged and gave her strawberry flavor. She sipped it wondering why vampires didn't get drunk.
He glanced Beth's way to see what she was doing, however, when he looked she was still preoccupied. He admitted, maybe he was getting a little drunk, as he was laughing a little too much for his own taste; either that or drinking just made Vampyres more hyper than drunk. A few minutes later, he glanced up again and saw that Beth was finished. He wanted to wave her over, but he didn't want to weigh her down; she seemed to be having fun. After finishing his drink, he began to hiccup, which irritated him.
Beth went over to noctis and vera. "Hey," she said hesitant not wanting to intrude on them if they were in a conversation.
"Hee-" he was about to say hello but he was interrupted, hiccuping again with a grimace."Hello," he finally finished, glancing up at her from his seated position."Did you have fun with that guy over there?" He asked with raised eyebrows, then he shook his head laughing slightly.
She raised her eyebrows. "We were just dancing it not like we were making out," she said defensively.
"I never said you were," he murmured, raising his hands in mock surrender."You just… were getting a little comfortable that's all -- I'm just kidding, there was nothing wrong with anything you two were doing, whatsoever, it's a club, its to be expected," he murmured, pretty much talking nonsense."I'm sorry, I just think I have a weak mind right now, apparently I can get a little drunk," he murmured, sighing as he believed the hiccups were gone but was proved wrong when he hiccuped again.
Beth decided the best thing for hiccups was a distraction. "Wanna dance?" she asked him as a new techno song came on.
Beth shrugged and blushed. "You don't have to but I'd like to dance with a guy I know instead of some random dude," she said.
"I-I…" he continued to stutter. Even if he was a little out of his mind, he still had his thoughts about dancing."If… if you'll go easy on me… maybe?" He said with a nervous laugh, standing up."Just don't -- don't try anything funny," he murmured.
She laughed pulling him to the dance floor and what exactly do you think is trying anything funny?" She asked him before she got in position.
She rolled her eyes and her right hand grabbing one of his belt loops the left one going to his shoulder she rocked there hips side to side moving in sync with the music.
Ash raced down the passage at full speed and reached there within twenty minutes. For a witch, Ash ran fast. Finally, she reached the door so she could enter the club. Techno music blared and people, magical and not, packed the club. She moved her way through the crowd off people.
