books for the second half of 2012

hi all,

on thursday we picked books for the second six months of this year... here's the list:

July: Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury
Aug: Zone One by Colson Whitehead
Sept: The Lucky Strike by Kim Stanley Robinson
Oct: Flora Segunda by Ysabeau Wilce
Nov: Halfway Human by Carolyn Ives Gilman
Dec: selected stories from Paper Cities edited by Ekaterina Sedia

Gremlin will be creating events for each meeting here and I'm going to create some on Facebook. It would be great if anyone planning on going could indicate that in one or the other place so we can follow up in case of conflicts/issues.

Here are my picks from /Paper Cities/ for December:

Cat Rambo, "The Bumblety's Marble"
Steve Berman, "Tearjerker"
Catherynne M. Valente, "Palimpsest"

Choosing turned out to be harder than I thought it would be. There are a number of good stories in this volume; I could have picked 3 or 4 other stories instead of the ones I did. I thought these would make for interesting discussion (or, in the case of one, that I just personally liked).
