Got to add my two cents--I was very disappointed in the ending. Wanted it to end happy. Would have been okay if he had figured out a way to do that...

His female point of view and the love scene was a let down.

Carol wrote: "My best friend was Nick Sparks father the one he talks about in 3 Weeks with my Brother. I am only glad Mike Sparks is dead because the way Nick lies broadly and makes his father look bad would br..."
Wow, Carol. I'd heard things about Nicholas Sparks. This pretty much confirms it.

This book i have to agree was not his best work. From the start i was thinking "Okay who is going to die" The ending was predictable.
Maybe i am the only one but i was glad Amanda and Dawson did not end up together in the end.

Once the story picked up, I really liked where it was going...and then the end, well, it sucked! Sometimes Nicholas Sparks gets a book right and sometimes he doesn't... I feel the message was received here, and that it was a good book...but it didn't end the way I wanted it to and it was sooooooooooooooooooooo boring. I will recommend it only because it was a decent story line...but other than that, it really doesn't bring much to the table.

Thank you!!!! I hated this book too

Yeah this is the worst choice for a Nicholas Sparks book....I hated this book! It was awful...try The Guardian....that one was really good. the Choice is another good one. A Bend in the road was also one I liked. But this one was just gross. I never read a book where I hated the heroine....#justsaying

On the other hand, I wanted a happy ending. I was expecting one as well! It kind of ruined my mood when I finished reading it. I think I spent the rest of the day doing nothing!

There was a movie?

I said "Almost". I think "The Choice" and "The Wedding" were the only books that I've read of his that someone didn't die.
I love his writing style, but his stories are too predictable and are starting to become cookie cutter. Guess I'll just wait for the movies to come out.

k I'm done arguing with haters.

"The book was better" therefore you will be admitting that the book in your opinion was good.
"THAT WAS SUCH A GOOD MOVIE & BOOK (you'll most likely be saying this in tears)"
so either way you'll love this book. In a way I feel very mature here explaining to all of you how outrageous you're being. Older people who are already married love these books. Note: I AM THIRTEEN doesn't that make me seem like a mature love expert (I'm probably not, but I'm trying to make a point here). So maybe some of you hate this book because you can't relate to the older characters who fell in love before you were born. Moral of your story: YOU ARE ALL JEALOUS. As for me? Hell yeah I'm jealous that people get to have wonderful love stories, but one day I'm gonna fight for something like that. All of you people living in what you call reality aka single lives can continue hating on things you could possibly not have if you don't believe in it.

WELL GUESS WHAT? SOMETIMES YOUR HEARTS STOPS AND YOU DIE THAT IS REALITY. YOU COULD BE IN LOVE WHEN THAT HAPPENS UGH NOW I'M STRESSED OUT READING ALL THE GOOD BOOKS INCLUDING THIS ONE THAT ALL OF YOU HATE. NOT TO MENTION I HAVE TO STAND UP FOR THESE AUTHORS AND THESE BOOKS WHILE YOU SIT HERE ON YOUR PHONES AND LAPTOPS DESPISING THESE BOOKS WITH YOUR HARSH WORDS
GOOD BYE UGHHHHHHH
