Sorry for not replying before now, Caitlyn. I just now saw your comment. :/
I was enjoying it very much, but got a stack of books from my library that I'm trying to get through so I put it on hold for now. Plan to pick it back up soon. :)

No worries! :) Glad to hear that, I'm looking forward to reading it soon! :D
Same here, just when I think I have my reading month all planned so that I can knock some off my TBR list, I end up not being able to resist getting more books from the library! :D

Elizabeth (lizr8900) | 317 comments I just finished Like a Flower in Bloom by Siri Mitchell . I didn't love it, I wanted to but just couldn't do it. I still enjoyed reading it but it was not my favorite.

Now I'm working on Star of Night (The Incense Road #2) by Tracy L. Higley and From the Start (Walker Family, #1) by Melissa Tagg . I'm also eagerly waiting for Not by Sight by Kate Breslin to get here!

message 909: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (lizr8900) | 317 comments I finished From the Start (Walker Family, #1) by Melissa Tagg and Bathsheba Reluctant Beauty (Dangerous Beauty, #2) by Angela Elwell Hunt . Both were very good reads and I'm so looking forward to the next in each series! I'm a little over halfway through Not by Sight by Kate Breslin and it's amazing so far! After that is Exodus (Shadow of the Mountain, #1) by Cliff Graham

message 910: by Aerykah (new)

Aerykah | 1404 comments I'm currently reading A Memory Between Us (Wings of Glory, #2) by Sarah Sundin Head in the Clouds by Karen Witemeyer and Falling for the Boss by Erica Matthews
Gosh, it's been a while since I read three books at once-- it's so nice! ;)

Higley and Exodus (Shadow of the Mountain, #1) by Cliff Graham . Hopefully I will be able to read Captive on the High Seas by Christina Rich at some point this week too.

Today I'll finish A Worthy Pursuit by Karen Witemeyer (it took me awhile to read this one for some reason, still enjoyed it) and start Luther and Katharina by Jody Hedlund then I plan on reading A Bride at Last (Unexpected Brides #3) by Melissa Jagears and In Tune With Love An April Wedding Story (A Year of Weddings Novella 2, #5) by Amy Matayo

Bess | 2584 comments Finished Mercy's Heart (The ChristKeepers, #1) by Grace Walton moved onto The Healer's Apprentice (Hagenheim #1) by Melanie Dickerson , The Merchant's Daughter (Hagenheim #2) by Melanie Dickerson , The Fairest Beauty (Hagenheim #3) by Melanie Dickerson , The Captive Maiden (Hagenheim #4) by Melanie Dickerson and currently on The Princess Spy (Hagenheim #5) by Melanie Dickerson . I've never been sucked into a series so captivating. Lots of fun!!
So, I didn't actually buy The Princess Spy, so I started The Red Siren (Charles Towne Belles, #1) by M.L. Tyndall instead, with all intentions of going back before the new book is available!!

Bess | 2584 comments I'm extremely curious as to how one reads multiple books simultaneously. The plots seem to intermingle confusing me to no end. Obviously there are ways to achieve this successfully. Care to share? ;)

It's an ADD thing, at least in my case. I'll start a book and before I finish it I'll see another I want to read and immediately start that one too =)

That must be why I can't do that. My worst problem is seeing books on Amazon, sampling them, falling in love with what I've read and then not having the money to buy them! And the vicious cycle never seems to end; I never seem to learn my lesson! There are so many books in my wish list, that I scarce think I'll ever be able to buy them all. And of course the list continues to grow! :) I'm so thankful for gift cards during my birthday and then again at Hanukkah! So, I'm constantly asking for Amazon gift cards. :) Since I only read Christian fiction, I'm blessed to have a set parameter that doesn't span so many genres that I'll never catch up. There is a light at the end of my wish list, although I may not see it for quite some time!! :D

message 925: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments Currently finished The Red Siren (Charles Towne Belles, #1) by M.L. Tyndall and since it such a HUGE cliffhanger, I immediately began The Blue Enchantress (Charles Towne Belles Book 2) by M.L. Tyndall !

message 926: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Newman | 1 comments I bought the book because the Chief of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department was fired for writing his book. Here is what one of the reviewers said "Thanks to all those who have persecuted this great Chief, I found out about the book and made the decision to purchase it. How great it is to know there are men like him standing for the truth, and people of all backgrounds should rally behind him. It isn't just a matter of Christianity, but of the right of conscience. The act of purging this man from city government over his beliefs was, itself, an act of discrimination."

Bess | 2584 comments Finished The Blue Enchantress (Charles Towne Belles Book 2) by M.L. Tyndall ...another cliff hanger but I read : The Princess Spy (Hagenheim #5) by Melanie Dickerson ! Amazing! Loved it! Then I read The Raven Saint (Charles Towne Belles Book 3) by MaryLu Tyndall . Oh.my.word! (insert girly sigh here!) This one is ALSO a cliffhanger! Ugh..the next book doesn't even show up until next year. Ms. Tyndall...I can barely breathe!! ;) So, I picked up The Redemption (Legacy of the King's Pirates, #1) by MaryLu Tyndall . So far, so good! I think between Ms. Tyndall & Ms. Dickerson, I'm ruined for action novels!! It's hard to read anything else right now!

Bess, Tyndall does write superb fiction! I recently read Tears of the Sea and really enjoyed it!

message 929: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments I was reading Tears of the Sea but I was distracted I think. It's on my list for later this year or early next. Thanks for your opinion about it; I have less trepidation now.

It's more fantasy, than strictly a pirate story, but I did like it. I will say that I wasn't a fan of the allegory part of the book, just because I don't ever seem to like that in stories.

I'm reading The Princess Spy by Melanie Dickerson right now. I started it a while ago, but never finished (don't know why), so I restarted it and will hopefully complete the book soon ;)

message 931: by Bess (new)

Recently finished: The Selection (The Selection, #1) by Kiera Cass Sweet Mountain Rancher (Those Marshall Boys #2) by Loree Lough Aloha Rose (Quilts of Love #12) by Lisa Cox Carter A Sweethaven Summer by Courtney Walsh

Have to say that I loved them all, which is always nice when that happens :)

Currently reading Gossip Girl (Gossip Girl, #1) by Cecily von Ziegesar
Definitely not one that I'm loving and, the way it's going, not one I'd recommend to younger readers.

Up next: Unfailing Love (Isle of Hope, #1) by Julie Lessman The Elite (The Selection, #2) by Kiera Cass City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare

Elizabeth (lizr8900) | 317 comments I recently finished Luther and Katharina by Jody Hedlund Dauntless (Valiant Hearts, #1) by Dina L. Sleiman and The Painter's Daughter by Julie Klassen . All I really enjoyed but Jody Hedlund and Julie Klassen keep blowing me away with their amazing books! I'm having a hard time deciding what I want to read next. I'm working on A Bride at Last (Unexpected Brides #3) by Melissa Jagears but I also really want to read another Julie Klassen book. Any suggestions?

message 935: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments My favorite Klassen novels are The Secret of Pembrooke Park and The Maid of Fairbourne Hall. Her novels are delightful!

Bess | 2584 comments So,I had to take a break from all the action novels or I'd be no use to anyone. :) Read The Hesitant Heiress (The Everstone Chronicles, #1) by Dawn Crandall , then Second Chance Cinderella by Carla Capshaw and just finished Brentwood's Ward by Michelle Griep .

Not sure what to read now. :/ Suggestions? I have so many books on my "to-read" shelf, I've no idea where to start. LOL This is a new concept for me. :)

I look over your tbr list and I'd suggest one of these: Waterfall (River of Time, #1) by Lisa Tawn Bergren With Every Letter (Wings of the Nightingale, #1) by Sarah Sundin A December Bride (A Year of Weddings, #1) by Denise Hunter A Match Made in Texas by Karen Witemeyer Born of Persuasion (Price of Privilege, #1) by Jessica Dotta
I gave each of them 5 stars. I hope this is helpful :)

I'm reading this book Relentless Pursuit A Novel (Secrets of Roux River Bayou, #3) by Kathy Herman

And will hopefully be starting these two this weekend:

Every Crooked Path (The Bowers Files #8) by Steven James (SO EXCITED! New book by my favorite author!)
The Brontë Plot by Katherine Reay

Bess | 2584 comments I don't own all the books on my to-read list. This one A Match Made in Texas by Karen Witemeyer breaks down into three: An Unforeseen Match (A Match Made in Texas, #2) by Regina Jennings , No Match for Love (A Match Made in Texas, #3) by Carol Cox , and Meeting Her Match (A Match Made in Texas, #4) by Mary Connealy

It's funny because while I was waiting for responses, I read those...they were quick reads!!

I'm finishing up another quick read: The Ultimatum Bride (Mail-Order Matches) by Leah Atwood . Then, I'll read the only other one on the list I currently own, With Every Letter (Wings of the Nightingale, #1) by Sarah Sundin . Thanks for all the suggestions!!!!
