Sharon Connell (sharonkconnell) | 187 comments I'm reading Riona (Fires of Gleannmara #2) by Linda Windsor

On page 28. Hard to get going in this story but I'm sure it will be as good as Maire Maire (Fires of Gleannmara, #1) by Linda Windsor , once I get into it. Maire was slow at first as well.

Sifa Gowon (sifushka) I'm currently reading Jewel of Persia by Roseanna M. White and I started but stopped The Queen of Sheba by Roberta Kells Dorr (I'll pick it up after I'm done with the other)

Reading Crazy Dangerous by Andrew Klavan and One Night in Tehran A Titus Ray Thriller by Luana Ehrlich and re-reading Submerged (Alaskan Courage, #1) by Dani Pettrey
Oh, and I just got an email saying that several books I had on hold at the library just came in! So, depending on what they are... I may just start one or two of them this week too! :D
Yeah... I haven't read this many books at one time in a while, but I'm loving it! ;)

message 809: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Connell (sharonkconnell) | 187 comments How on earth do you read more than one book at a time. I'm a multitask-er, always have been, but that is simply beyond my scope of thinking. I need to concentrate on the story. Would love to know how you go about doing that, if you don't mind telling me. I know you're not the only one who does.

message 810: by Aerykah (new)

Aerykah | 1404 comments I don't know, but I've been told that I just have a mind for it. I've never had much trouble focusing on a few different stories at one time. Usually, I choose books from different genres -- that helps keep the stories separate -- and avoid books that have same or similar character names.
The three I'm currently reading are all Suspense. I don't normally do that, but these books are different enough that I don't have to worry about confusing them.
I don't know how I'm able to, but I can be reading one book in my bedroom, then go to the living room & pick up a different one and have little, or no, trouble shifting my mind to a different story. Unless I'm at a climatic part..... In that case, no other book is going to hold my interest. ;)

The Sanctuary by Ted Dekker

I'm also partway through several other books, but these are my two main reads right now. :)

message 823: by Carole (new)

Carole Jarvis Quilted by Christmas Quilts of Love Series by Jodie Bailey I thought Jodie Bailey was a new author, but it turns out that she has published a few suspense novels which I hadn't seen because I'm not big on suspense. Quilted by Love is a character-driven narrative with a small-town Appalachian setting, engaging characters, emotional romance and plot. I loved everything about this book! Sharon Connell (sharonkconnell) | 187 comments I finally finished Riona (Fires of Gleannmara #2) by Linda Windsor . It got better as the story went on.

Now I'm reading Cross and Crown by McCabe James Dabney, which is a reproduction of an old book published around 1874 about the sufferings and triumphs of the men and women who were persecuted for their faith. This is going to take a long time to read because it's a little under 700 pages in small print. In addition to the fact that, although I've finished writing and editing my third novel, There Abideth Hope, I still have to read through the proof when it arrives in a few days.

I'm hoping to get my new novel to Amazon before Christmas, so that doesn't leave much time for reading other books.

I completed two series for my "Complete the series" challenge, 1 book for my "50 States" Reading challenge, and 2 books for me "re-read" challenge. I also hit my goal of 20 posts for the month of January on my blog! :D
