I believe a librarian must do it. However, it is very easy to apply, and you can do as much or as little librarian work as you want.

Hello! I added a new edition (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15...) of a book (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/65...), but I'm afraid I don't understand how to combine these. Could someone please help? And do I have to ask for combining each time I add a new edition? Thank you.

You have to go to combine, put the book title where it says: filter works by keyword.
After that you select the books you wish to combine and combine them.

My kindle edition shows ISBN-13 9781462006229 on the "flyleaf", hence my confusion.

I imagine a lot of the confusion (and not just yours, of course) stems from the fact that Kindle editions are (at least sometimes, maybe always?) associated with the ebook ISBN on the Amazon site (but only display the ASIN in the details), but for clarification purposes here, we strictly connect Kindle editions with ASINs, not ISBNs.

Ah! thanks for that. I've noticed the ASINs are coded in the file title, so if one views one's kindle via USB, one can extract them. Now I know it's important, I'll do that!
