Merge authors

Can someone help me to merge this author. I tried to merge (copying the correct name to the other profile, still 2 separate profiles).

I clearly don't know how to work this merging thing yet. I tried it earlier and got the same result as the OP. What's the trick? I went to the Librarian Manual and did as instructed with the author name but it didn't work.

There are times when merge plays up especially with special characters or accents.

I just add a number to the end of the name, save, then reedit and save, that prompts the "choose author to keep" page and the merge
