Dustin, It's a caching issue. It takes at least a day, and sometimes longer, for the numbers to become accurate. Occasionally, there's some sort of bug and Goodreads needs to do a reset, but usually the numbers resolve themselves. You'll see this frequently with many books on Goodreads.

We need an obvious popup note or FAQ about this. It seems like this question pops up every few weeks.

Michael, That would be great. It might be most effective on each book's page since not every member will look for other pages for an explanation.

I think I see what the original poster is talking about...though it may still be a caching issue.
I think I see what the original poster is talking about...though it may still be a caching issue. If you look at your books on your My Books pages, sometimes the ratings don't seem to match up with what is on the actual book page.
For example, this book is showing up in (my) My Books with a 10.67 average rating, but if you go to the book page, it is 4.50.
I'm guessing it's still a caching thing, but weird nonetheless. Strange to see a book on one's shelf with an average rating of 13.50.

That issue was addressed a few weeks back in the Feedback group, and I thought had been resolved. Guess not.
