Wrong Relase date?

This book says it doesn't release until the 12th, but I bought a copy today at a book store? Amazon says the same for release date, but I can't figure out what happened here.

Every record I can find says 6/12/2012. Maybe your store made a mistake and released it early? Or had a special deal with the publisher? Or...?

Edit: The author says June 12, too, but notes that some stores apparently put copies out a few days early.

Stores will often put books out a few days early, if it's not a big name author (e.g. J.K. Rowling).

Some books have strict release dates; some have loose release dates. Most often the former corresponds to bigger-name authors, but not always.
