Elizabeth | 11 comments Hi, I just uploaded my page 99 of my Science Fiction novel, Other Systems. I'm really curious what readers will say. http://www.page99test.com/read-my-pag...

message 57: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments I voted. I'd turn the page. I don't trust the Kiposi. I think Abby and Orchid are in trouble.

Hi, Elizabeth, I just left a comment for you. As I said in it I used to read a lot of SF but not so much anymore, don't know why because I think some of the greatest books I've ever read were SF (Dune, Dahlgren). I liked what you wrote, just a teeny suggestion about showing more and telling less. I agree with the others who've said that obviously this group of young people is in trouble. The technician was kind of creepy - nice!

P.A. Wilson (pawilson) I love this stuff. I have to check out some of these books. And, of course, submit some of my books.

Chris Ward (chriswardfictionwriter) | 15 comments I tried this site but I'm not a big fan. I've got lots of inane comments by people who don't know what they're talking about. The text is justified for example, and Word split one word (other) with a hyphen. Apparently this is so confusing that two people would refuse to turn the page. I also had two people criticise my grammar. I have scoured that page and there isn't a single grammar or typo error. I'm an English teacher by profession and I'm studying for an MA in Linguistics. When I do feedback on other pages I give specific examples of what I believe is incorrect. Also just to say "I don't know what's going on" as a reason for not turning a page is kind of dumb. It's like, duh, you've been dropped into the middle of the book...

David Manuel | 32 comments I posted page 99 of Killer Protocols several months ago and finally got 30 responses (actually 31). Page99 then closes the page and, if your positives are greater than 65%, awards you a "Page Turner" emblem. 77% said they'd turn the page. So how has everyone else fared?

Red Harvey (seansgirl329) | 10 comments @ShazzyLouLou thanks for the head's up on www.reviewfuse.com; I'm gonna have to check it out. As for www.page99test.com, I've been using it for awhile now and it's given me a useful perspective into my writing, and the turnaround for comments is so fast. Gotta love it :D
