Alex | 125 comments What is the longest or weirdest word you know? Or, if you'd prefer, you can just tell us your favourite word along with the definition.

Alex | 125 comments Well, this isn't a word, but it is a saying that I really like.
Bob's your uncle!
Meaning easy, simple,"There, you're all set", e.g "Put the dishes on the table and Bob's your uncle!"

message 6: by Xdyj (new)

Xdyj There is a wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longest_.... My favorite is maybe James Joyce's Bababadalgharaghtakamminarronnkonnbronntonnerronntuonnthunntrovarrhounawnskawntoohoohoordenenthurnuk, which is said to be formed by the word "thunder" in about a dozen languages.

It could almost be a whole discussion by itself. What are the weirdest things to be afraid of?
Being crawled on by millipedes, finding moths in your favorite book, losing a $5 note, spiders in the bath, etc.
