Having problems with editions!

Issue #1: No spaces between author initials. R.S.R. Fitter, not R. S. R. Fitter. I merged those two.
The other editions thing is a caching issue. You can force a cache reset by editing a book and re-saving. (No need to make any changes.)

Thanks so much rivka! Good to know I hadn't done something major. I did see the spaces in the author and was going to remove them (the extra edition I've added I put as R.S.R. after finding that mentioned in the lib. manual) and I was going to change it on these but when I noticed the editions had gone screwy I stopped working on them.
Thanks again - will try to remember about the caching.
Hi,Remembered I had read the book 'Blue Sky July', (not that I had already put on my shelf with review) checked the author,
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
http://www.worldcat.org/search?q=%22b...
Am wondering whether the editions should be combined even though the title is slightly different?
Haven't found a webpage for the author to put any other details in.
Am guessing I will have to delete one book from my shelf, as I am unable to 'switch to another edition' as they are separate....
Thanks!

I've been trying to add an edition of 'London's Natural History' by R.S.R. Fitter to some pre-existing separate editions and trying to get editions combined but somehow have got in a right mess. I'm seeing all the four existing editions under R. S. R. Fitter but one edition now claims to have 11 other editions (!) but where you select them is a message that 'none are found':
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/68...
Is it a case of waiting for the data set to sort itself out (I thought for a horrible moment that the other editions had disappeared but they seem to be coming up in searches now)?
I was trying to separate them because a wrong edition was appearing in a series I tried to set up... in future I'll leave well alone and ask here (assuming I don't get lib. status revoked).
