Félix (habitseven) I predicted that outcome, Jim.

Well I wish that you had told me

message 53: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Some things you just have to learn for yourself.

message 54: by [deleted user] (new)

Psychic and a philosopher, I like it.

Félix (habitseven) Yes, Grasshopper.

I'm glad it is fall. This is my favorite time of year.

message 57: by Suefly (new)

Suefly | 620 comments It is lovely. It's not yet frigid, the extreme heat is done, the leaves are turning and it's 'boots-n- sweater' weather.

Sigh

message 58: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Wait! Jim deleted??

message 59: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Oh that's the old Jim profile. Never mind.

I really like this time of year, too.

Plus there are gorgeous fall nail polish colors to wear!

message 61: by Suefly (new)

Suefly | 620 comments Yesssss!

I love a fall palette...rich reds, burnt oranges, luxurious purples.
Nail polish is an affordable indulgence.

Félix (habitseven) Suefly your face looks peculiar.

I like the warm sun and cool air of fall. That and the late evening sunsets.

message 64: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments Sunsets seem to be coming much earlier than I would like. But this really is the best time of the year.

I like the darkness of winter. It is cozy.

message 66: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments It's early Spring here which is nice but I much prefer the Autumn day . I like a cool crisp feel to the air. I do like the Spring gardens .

message 67: by Carol (new)

Carol | 1678 comments gack, fall. It's dark too early, it rains too much. I'm freezing in the morning, too hot at lunch, and driving in monsoon conditions on the way home. I love spring into summer.

I'm grading. Three more essays before sleep.

This is precisely why fall is my favorite, too!

Frankly $7/hour does not seem enough. I want my helicopter pilot to be making significantly more than $7/hour.

And now the girls who have been wearing their boots all summer long with their short-shorts don't even have to change shoes. Their stinky feet can stay in precisely the same shoe.

message 72: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments For $7/hr you might have to read him/her the how to manual.

The leaves are starting to change...beautiful!

This is where I live. Literally. That nub on the left is called "Crown Point" and it's probably 10-15 minutes of the most beautiful drive from my front door. I LOVE Autumn!

message 74: by [deleted user] (new)

Mish, you're so close to me! Sometime soon, when things calm down for you, we'll have to do something fun!

message 75: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Crown Point is one of my favorite places on the planet.

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

If Mr. Amy had his way, we'd be up there every night watching the sunset! :) Later in the year, when it gets dark earlier, I'll be more inclined.

message 77: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Here is a picture I took near there at sunset:

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

On one of the trails?

message 79: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Fall is a wonderful time in Iowa. Harvest-time, leaf color and plenty of politicians. It's almost time to vote!

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

I rock my vote, but I don't really get as excited about election time. I really hate people chapping on my door every night of the week.

message 81: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Amelia wrote: "On one of the trails?"

It was along the little 2 lane road near the point.

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

Ah, the Historic Scenic Highway. You know, once upon a time, that was the only highway East. I love that drive from Troutdale to Multnomah Falls. My grandad used to take us all the time as kids, in his HUGE, maroon, fake wood sided, station wagon. We'd drive all the way to Cascade Locks to eat, then drive back. I think he did it, because that was the only time my grams shut up. She was a screamer and a nagger. (Though, I have to say he egged it on a bit. I mean, just close a cupboard now and then, old man!)

message 83: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It is a lovely road.

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

A Long and Winding Road.

message 85: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) This is John Lennon's b'day, not Paul McCartney's.

message 86: by [deleted user] (new)

That's getting a little specific, Lar.

How 'bout Old Dirt Road?

Road to Nowhere? Talking Heads?

message 88: by [deleted user] (new)

Work with me here.

message 89: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Unfortunately, that's what I'm doing -- working.

The Road Less Traveled?

message 90: by [deleted user] (new)

Yellow Brick Road?

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments The Road to Ruin (is paved with good intentions.)

Is that a song, or a quote?

NICE one, Misha!

message 96: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Beautiful pictures Amelia and FeLarryix.

It still feels like autumn. There are crispy leaves everywhere and the air at night has a gentle chill.

I do hate how early it gets dark but I love to look up and see the silhouette of bare tree branches against the night sky.

Phil | 11837 comments It's a new page for a new season.

message 98: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It feels good.

I love this time of year. It reminds me of some happy times when I was a kid. I would wake up to the roar of cicadas, signaling a blistering hot day, king tides, lovely clear deep water in the creek. We could swim all day. No body cared were I was or what I was doing. Christmas beetles were around, they are so pretty. I could find a quiet corner and read alone without being disturbed. Climb my favourite gum tree. Life wasn't always bad. I lived in a beautiful location.
