Hello for the 1st time in a long time but sounds like everyone has finished the Art of Fielding. It's been a while since I finished the book but I remember the joy I felt when reading it. The fact that it starts out in Peoria, involves baseball, and the Cardinals. It was just a convergence of good things last fall what with STL being in the playoffs and winning the World Series. I liked the main character tho can't remember his name. Well I liked all the characters. I was surprised with the way it ended but like that they all seemed to be friends again. That's about all I have to say about it except thank you Nancy!! It was definitely the best book so far, but there's always a new book tomorrow.
Someone asked me to write down a couple of authors I recommended when we got together in March. Not great literature or anything but I enjoy Spencer Quinn - mystery narrated by the PI's dog Chet (Dog On It, Therey Hangs a Tail, etc) and the Maisie Dobbs series about a woman psyhcologyst/detective in England starting just before WWI (can't think of the author).
What have you all been reading? Kathryn, are we supposed to read all of the Hunger Game books or just the 1st one for your selection? I'm getting close to finishing South of Superior and will soon start Zaslow's last book about mothers and brides. Just saw Anna Quindlen on Book TV and was really impressed by her. I've only read her Good Dog - Stay but definitely will get into more of hers.
Gorgeous day today - sure hope the rest of the summer stays this nice. Kathryn, stay out of the way of all those hurricanes and did I see on FB that you had a car accident recently? All, take care!!! Joleen
