I agree, Stefani! There has to be boundaries. Unfortunatly I don't think there will be backlash from the citizens.

33. Do you believe that Samm and the Partials want peace? He could be using this as a way to escape by playing on Kira's trust and curiosity. The whole we want peace thing seems too ideal and convinent.
I do think they want peace.
34. Kira found a new form of RM in the blood sample she received from the newborn. Why isn't this new virus affecting the adults? It seems suspicious than an airborne disease would only affect babies when everyone is breathing the same air (and the adults have been exposed to it much longer). Is someone intentionally trying to target newborns?
Maybe the Blobs the adults have act as a sort of immunity to the new virus. Or it is what the virus actually looks like when first attacking.
35. "You have to help me...My heart is stopping...The beats are too erratic."
Okay, I know this is fiction but I don't think anyone would say this while getting electrocuted (or immediately after). They would be too busy screaming their head off or passed out.
Yeah, this was a little cheesy. She totally would have been passed out.
36. Are you surprised that Mkele and Skousen killed Shaylon? Do you think they will attempt to kill Kira after her time with Samm is up? She won't be an "asset" if she fails to find the cure.
I'm not surprised. They seem like the type to kill anyone in the way, including Kira.
37. So many shockers! What did you did more surprising: the revelation that the Partials are dying, that the Senate blew up their own hospital, or Isolde's love child with Hobb (eww!) ?
Ugh, Isolde. How much do you wanna bet that Hobb was a strong advocate of lowering the pregnancy age just so he could bang Isolde? He seems like such a perv.
38. Speaking of Isolde should we be weary of her? She's friends with people who oppose the government but she's carrying the future child of 'Uncle Sam'. She can't possibly coexist peacefully without her choosing a side.
She will choose the government. It's where her baby daddy is.
39. The stupidity of the senate surprises me. They do something evil genius like setting a bomb and using Samm as a scapegoat but then they let Kira "recuperate" and "take her time". Are they honestly stupid enough to believe that she's not going to do something? The same girl who defied them to find a Partial? How short sighted are they?
I think they are a bunch of idiots. They can't or won't think ahead.
40. I know why the humans would need the Partials (they hold the key to curing RM) but why would the Partials need the humans? I doubt anyone knows how to extend their expiration date. I guess I can say that I'm paranoid about the Partials too.
Maybe they just want to see if they can reproduce with the humans. Totally unsure about them. I just hope we find out by the end of this book - I hate waiting for sequels to find out important stuff.

25. Kira is obviously starting to form a bond with Samm. Do you think she will get in trouble for sympathizing with him? There are cameras watching their every move and no one wants Samm in town. I'm worried that she might get herself labeled as a member of the Voice.
She is definitely walking on shaky ground. She could be seen as a Partial Sympathizer which is probably just as bad. Emotions tend to flair when Partials are included.
26. "The Partials are engineered, she thought. A switch like that...could have been built right into them."
Could it be that the Partials were built intentionally to carry the RM virus with them? That the virus was 'manufactured' and not an accident?
Scary stuff for her to consider. If the Partials didn't manufacture it then who did?
27. Why would the Voice attack East Meadow for Samm? Were they trying to rescue him? It doesn't seem like they would go through all that trouble to capture and kill him. Is if possible that the Voice may have an alliance with the Partials?
What would they do with him? They don't seem to have a facility so I can't imagine why they'd want him.
28. "All we need is three and a half more days, right? Then we destroy it [Samm] and be done." Hobb shook his head. "It's not enough to just destroy it, like we've said before...we need to appear blameless."
What do you think this means for Samm? It seems like they are planning something bigger than death for him but what can be worse than death?
They are torturing him so who knows?
29. I loved the little tidbit Samm shared about working in the mines and wanting (and failing) to advance with what he was given. It made him seem more human. What did you think of the exchange?
You can't help feeling bad for him and the other Partials. I think they can be classified as humans.
30. Do you think the pheromones used to communicate will play a part in curing RM?
Could be since that seems to be the biggest thing that she's found.
31. Kira and Marcus's relationship started off very light and jovial. Now, it is transforming. What do you think of their relationship? Of Marcus? Is he trying to control Kira's decisions?
I think he's afraid of loosing her.
32. Why would the government lower the pregnancy age now? We knew it was a possibility but wouldn't it be better to wait until they had the results of Kira's experiments? Then they could reveal that they exhausted all their options. Are they stupid, desperate, or trying to provoke citizens?
Maybe all three?

33. Do you believe that Samm and the Partials want peace? He could be using this as a way to escape by playing on Kira's trust and curiosity. The whole we want peace thing seems too ideal and convinent.
I don't know what to think. I think if I was in Kira's shoes I'd want to believe it.
I don't think so. I think it just happens that way. What I find odd is that usually when you put two immune people together, or I guess in this instance carriers, together you'd think you'd get some kids that are immune.
35. "You have to help me...My heart is stopping...The beats are too erratic."
Okay, I know this is fiction but I don't think anyone would say this while getting electrocuted (or immediately after). They would be too busy screaming their head off or passed out.
I don't have a problem with that. She was trying to explain to a Parial who maybe would be immune to electrical sysmptoms.
36. Are you surprised that Mkele and Skousen killed Shaylon? Do you think they will attempt to kill Kira after her time with Samm is up? She won't be an "asset" if she fails to find the cure.
I think they'd do anything to get whatever it is they want.
37. So many shockers! What did you did more surprising: the revelation that the Partials are dying, that the Senate blew up their own hospital, or Isolde's love child with Hobb (eww!) ?
How old is Isolde? Maybe that's why they want the younger age. All the females would be free game. EW! Makes my skin crawl.*shudder*
38. Speaking of Isolde should we be weary of her? She's friends with people who oppose the government but she's carrying the future child of 'Uncle Sam'. She can't possibly coexist peacefully without her choosing a side.
Since she owned up to it I think they can trust her.
Maybe that virus did more damage then they previously thought...
40. I know why the humans would need the Partials (they hold the key to curing RM) but why would the Partials need the humans? I doubt anyone knows how to extend their expiration date. I guess I can say that I'm paranoid about the Partials too.
I'm still thinking they want to attempt to breed little partials with humans.

Good point, Stefani, about Isolde & Hobb. And I agree with Sashana that there won't be backlash, not with the Hope Act in place.
@ Alley
#38 - Yeah, I'm leaning in that direction, too. Stefani made a good point earlier, about how she was unwilling to risk herself to help before. Perhaps she was already pregnant?
@ Lisarenee
#40 - Hah, "little partials." That made me laugh for some reason.

Yep. Was 18. Now 16. They can choose how they get pregnant - boyfriend, older man, or artificial insemination. They just can't choose if they want to be pregnant or not.

41) So the Partials have no idea where things are on the island. Did Samm's lack of knowledge set off any warning bells?
42) Partials can't disobey or they are traitors. That is definitely a military type approach to things. Could this come back to bite them later?
43) The Trust is the senior command of the Partials which include 8 genrals from advanced templates. What do you make of this?
44) So the group got split up in the storm not good. Will the others find Kira?
45) Talk about a cliffhanger stopping point. Are you surprised Samm lied? What will happen to Kira? Did Samm do what Kira what she did to him? Gah!

41) So the Partials have no idea where things are on the island. Did Samm's lack of knowledge set off any warning bells?
I didn't think about that.
42) Partials can't disobey or they are traitors. That is definitely a military type approach to things. Could this come back to bite them later?
Probably. Just because someone is in charge doesn't mean they are right. But they have to follow them anyway.
43) The Trust is the senior command of the Partials which include 8 genrals from advanced templates. What do you make of this?
It's interesting. I wonder why they did not give those 8 expiration dates.
44) So the group got split up in the storm not good. Will the others find Kira?
I don't know. If they do, it will be because the Partials caught them.
45) Talk about a cliffhanger stopping point. Are you surprised Samm lied? What will happen to Kira? Did Samm do what Kira what she did to him? Gah!
I was totally surprised. She will probably be taken back to their base. I think Samm didn't want that to happen.

41) So the Partials have no idea where things are on the island. Did Samm's lack of knowledge set off any warning bells?
It does seem odd that they don't seem to have any knowledge of the island. You would think that they would have special navigational skills or at least know a bit more since they were created.
42) Partials can't disobey or they are traitors. That is definitely a military type approach to things. Could this come back to bite them later?
I think so. I would think that it would create a lot of animosity in the ranks. They won't be very effective if they are having issues with each other.
43) The Trust is the senior command of the Partials which include 8 genrals from advanced templates. What do you make of this?
Its interesting. I would think that it would be even more dangerous to not give them an expiration date as they might become corrupt.
44) So the group got split up in the storm not good. Will the others find Kira?
I am thinking they will. I don't think it will be right away however. I am becoming suspicious about Samm.
45) Talk about a cliffhanger stopping point. Are you surprised Samm lied? What will happen to Kira? Did Samm do what Kira what she did to him? Gah!
I was surprised. I was not expecting him to lie as he seemed really sincere and like he really cared about Kira. I am wondering if he has truly betrayed her though. I am thinking not. I bet he will do anything to keep her safe, no matter what the rest of his faction thinks.

41) So the Partials have no idea where things are on the island. Did Samm's lack of knowledge set off any warning bells?
I didn't really think about it, but Jayden (or maybe it was Marcus) seemed taken aback by it. I didn't really pause to process it.
42) Partials can't disobey or they are traitors. That is definitely a military type approach to things. Could this come back to bite them later?
I really think this is going to be important. You could see, for instance, that Samm was working hard at resisting his men when the female Partial found him and Kira. He obviously didn't to be brought in, but once they'd linked into him, the order was given, and it took all of his willpower not to go. I personally think Samm is good, despite the shocking cliffhanger we just read. He wants peace and he wants to protect Kira, but what will happen if he receives orders that contradict those two things?
43) The Trust is the senior command of the Partials which include 8 genrals from advanced templates. What do you make of this?
It definitely seems odd, these Partials not receiving expiration dates. What's that about? Ugh, answers!
44) So the group got split up in the storm not good. Will the others find Kira?
Eventually, yes. I think it's going to become complicated, though, because of the twist we just read.
45) Talk about a cliffhanger stopping point. Are you surprised Samm lied? What will happen to Kira? Did Samm do what Kira what she did to him? Gah!
Okay, so I loved this twist. Sashana seemed to see it coming, but I really believed the Partials wanted peace. I guess it did seem really easy and convenient, but I was fooled. I was really surprised. There were little warning bells going off in my head when Samm started to change his story as they got closer to Partial territory, but I ignored them. I still believe Samm is good, fully good. I think that he personally wants peace, and he came to care a lot about Kira under her care.

46. Another shocking plot twist - this time about Kira. I must admit, I had my suspicions that she was more than she seemed. What do you think of this revelation? How do you think her friends will react to the news?
47. I was disappointed that Samm chose not to go with Kira and the rest of the group back to East Meadow, though I understand his reasons. What would you have done, if you were Samm? It seems dangerous for him either way. Do you think Samm and Kira will ever see each other again?
48. How do you think Samm will work towards peace between the two species? Do you think the humans will be more likely to consider working with Partials once they see the cure for RM?
49. Were you surprised that Gianna and Owen Tovar turned out to be members of the Voice? Did you expect this of either of them? I found Gianna’s story of why she joined the Voice ironic.
50. What did you think of the riot’s aftermath? 200 people were killed as a result of Kira and her friends’ actions that day. Do you think they could have found another way to cause a distraction? Do you agree with Kira, that the loss of those lives was worth it, if the cure works?
51. Do you think Tovar’s plan to get Kira and her friends into the city will work as planned? What problems do you see arising?

41) So the Partials have no idea where things are on the island. Did Samm's lack of knowledge set off any warning bells?
Not really, they weren't really on the island much and if much of the mainland was rebel territory he wouldn't have spent much time there either so it would be difficult to place himself from more than a map.
42) Partials can't disobey or they are traitors. That is definitely a military type approach to things. Could this come back to bite them later?
I see this putting Samm in a very bad spot later. The Partials may have wanted peace originally but may change their minds after what happened in Samm's capture and he won't be able to help.
43) The Trust is the senior command of the Partials which include 8 genrals from advanced templates. What do you make of this?
I admit I wasn't expecting that. It makes sense but I figured that if Paragen was gone they'd pretty much be on their own.
44) So the group got split up in the storm not good. Will the others find Kira?
I think so, I can't imagine they'd leave her. Though if someone if going to have to be saved...I think it may be Kira finding them.
45) Talk about a cliffhanger stopping point. Are you surprised Samm lied? What will happen to Kira? Did Samm do what Kira what she did to him? Gah!
Admittedly it looks bad for Samm. So a few things may have happened...either Samm was telling the truth and the Partials changed their mind when he was captured. Or, he was lying because they want a human for some other reason and it was easier to get them to come willingly than by force.

46. Another shocking plot twist - this time about Kira. I must admit, I had my suspicions that she was more than she seemed. What do you think of this revelation? How do you think her friends will react to the news?
This bugged me right along with the "the government really did it" thing because it was so overdone and predictable. But even though I found it rather predictable, I am intrigued that she's a different type of Partial than the others. That makes me wonder, and I like wondering.
47. I was disappointed that Samm chose not to go with Kira and the rest of the group back to East Meadow, though I understand his reasons. What would you have done, if you were Samm? It seems dangerous for him either way. Do you think Samm and Kira will ever see each other again?
I think they will, otherwise it wouldn't be a very good series! And with book 2 expected out next year, we have to see Samm again at some point.
48. How do you think Samm will work towards peace between the two species? Do you think the humans will be more likely to consider working with Partials once they see the cure for RM?
I think the "plague babies" will be all for working with them, I see the others being more resistant.
49. Were you surprised that Gianna and Owen Tovar turned out to be members of the Voice? Did you expect this of either of them? I found Gianna’s story of why she joined the Voice ironic.
I really liked Gianna's story. I was hoping that she wasn't Voice all along, so that part was good. And Tovar, I really believed wasn't Voice and I was wrong! That surprised me.
50. What did you think of the riot’s aftermath? 200 people were killed as a result of Kira and her friends’ actions that day. Do you think they could have found another way to cause a distraction? Do you agree with Kira, that the loss of those lives was worth it, if the cure works?
Only if it works. If it doesn't work then 200 people died for nothing. Though I can't help but thinking...if Kira is a Partial and Partials are the cure for RM....why weren't the babies okay when she showed up in the maternity ward? That would suggest she doesn't have the compound that is the cure. But if she really is a Partial, then why wouldn't she have it? More questions than answers on this one.
51. Do you think Tovar’s plan to get Kira and her friends into the city will work as planned? What problems do you see arising?
I think it's very likely that most of the problems will be after they reach Madison. Getting there may present a few minor problems but most of the issues will be getting her out.

46. Another shocking plot twist - this time about Kira. I must admit, I had my suspicions that she was more than she seemed. What do you think of this revelation? How do you think her friends will react to the news?
I figured she was. When they were in the Senate hearing, something was said about her being able to 'feel' Samm's feeling of betrayal. I think her friends will be hurt and Marcus will not want to be with her anymore.
47. I was disappointed that Samm chose not to go with Kira and the rest of the group back to East Meadow, though I understand his reasons. What would you have done, if you were Samm? It seems dangerous for him either way. Do you think Samm and Kira will ever see each other again?
It was the right choice. I'm sure they will mee up again - in the next book if not before the end of this one.
48. How do you think Samm will work towards peace between the two species? Do you think the humans will be more likely to consider working with Partials once they see the cure for RM?
I honestly have no idea how Samm will do it. I don't know if the humans would want to work with Partials - I can totally see the Senate wanting to take some Partials prisoner to harvest the pheromones.
49. Were you surprised that Gianna and Owen Tovar turned out to be members of the Voice? Did you expect this of either of them? I found Gianna’s story of why she joined the Voice ironic.
Gianna, no. Tovar, yes.
50. What did you think of the riot’s aftermath? 200 people were killed as a result of Kira and her friends’ actions that day. Do you think they could have found another way to cause a distraction? Do you agree with Kira, that the loss of those lives was worth it, if the cure works?
I think the riot ended up as bad as it did because tensions were already high about the lowering of the pregnancy age. I think it's worth it if the cure works.
51. Do you think Tovar’s plan to get Kira and her friends into the city will work as planned? What problems do you see arising?
I'm not sure. I want it to work. I bet Kira gets captured after curing Madison's baby.

#50 - When they first realized Kira was a Partial, Samm was confused about her not being able to Link. No Linking means no pheromones, I think. No pheromones means she can't use herself to cure the babies. I remember someone saying that only the military Partials were given the pheromone capability. Kira is clearly not a military Partial, which just brings up so many more questions.

Answers to Questions for Chapters 31 - 36
46. Another shocking plot twist - this time about Kira. I must admit, I had my suspicions that she was more than she seemed. What do you think of this revelation? How do you think her friends will react to the news?
I had a short quick thought she could be a partial and then let it go. Not everything added up to it. I think this revelation brought up more questions and I'm not at all sure how her friends will take the news.
47. I was disappointed that Samm chose not to go with Kira and the rest of the group back to East Meadow, though I understand his reasons. What would you have done, if you were Samm? It seems dangerous for him either way. Do you think Samm and Kira will ever see each other again?
I don't think things would be safe for Samm to go with Kira, but they aren't safe where he is now either. I think the Partials may make an allowance for him. I don't think he truly went against commands. The question is what will be thought of what he did.
48. How do you think Samm will work towards peace between the two species? Do you think the humans will be more likely to consider working with Partials once they see the cure for RM?
I think Kira's going to be the key to peace and in a sequel we'll see just how.
49. Were you surprised that Gianna and Owen Tovar turned out to be members of the Voice? Did you expect this of either of them? I found Gianna’s story of why she joined the Voice ironic.
I wasn't really surprised that Owen and Gianna turned out to be Voice. I must confess however that I was beginning to wonder if there truly was a Voice. I thought maybe the government made it up.
50. What did you think of the riot’s aftermath? 200 people were killed as a result of Kira and her friends’ actions that day. Do you think they could have found another way to cause a distraction? Do you agree with Kira, that the loss of those lives was worth it, if the cure works?
Given the circumstances I can't see another way they could have safely gotten out of the city. I think the risk was worth it because otherwise they'd end up becoming extinct. Plus, they didn't know what the end results would be.
51. Do you think Tovar’s plan to get Kira and her friends into the city will work as planned? What problems do you see arising?
I'm sure something will not go as planned. i can't imagine with their well known faces that someone won't recognize one of them.

I'm not really surprised because you (Mary) kept suggesting that there was "more" to her so I was on my toes. I think her friends will be surprised but I think they'll still love her. I don't know how Marcus will respond though.
47. I was disappointed that Samm chose not to go with Kira and the rest of the group back to East Meadow, though I understand his reasons. What would you have done, if you were Samm? It seems dangerous for him either way. Do you think Samm and Kira will ever see each other again?
I think he made the right decision. He would be killed on sight. I know they'll see each other again
48. How do you think Samm will work towards peace between the two species? Do you think the humans will be more likely to consider working with Partials once they see the cure for RM?
I think now that the humans have the cure for RM they are going to be even more UNWILLING to help the Partials. They get the cure and their enemies are dying. It's a win/win for them
49. Were you surprised that Gianna and Owen Tovar turned out to be members of the Voice? Did you expect this of either of them? I found Gianna’s story of why she joined the Voice ironic.
I was surprised that Gianna wasn't the Voice to begin with. She only joined after she was accused. I wonder how many people were pushed to do the same?
50. What did you think of the riot’s aftermath? 200 people were killed as a result of Kira and her friends’ actions that day. Do you think they could have found another way to cause a distraction? Do you agree with Kira, that the loss of those lives was worth it, if the cure works?
I think it was unavoidable. There has to be causalities when you're writing a story like this or the setting would be blah. I think 200 (fictional!) people dying is worth the future of a dying species.
51. Do you think Tovar’s plan to get Kira and her friends into the city will work as planned? What problems do you see arising?
I read ahead so I'll refrain from answering.
*****************************************************
Thank you for making yesterday's questions, Mary!

46. Another shocking plot twist - this time about Kira. I must admit, I had my suspicions that she was more than she seemed. What do you think of this revelation? How do you think her friends will react to the news?
I think that it was the obvious way to go. I am thinking that her friends are going to end up being fine with it in the end. Marcus, however, is a wild card. He is constantly changing viewpoints and I don't know that he will be as accepting.
47. I was disappointed that Samm chose not to go with Kira and the rest of the group back to East Meadow, though I understand his reasons. What would you have done, if you were Samm? It seems dangerous for him either way. Do you think Samm and Kira will ever see each other again?
I wish that he had gone with them. I think all together they would have had a better chance of keeping him alive than he is going to have alone against his people. I am sure that the end is going to be some heroic gesture made by Samm to save the day. Although I could be wrong.
48. How do you think Samm will work towards peace between the two species? Do you think the humans will be more likely to consider working with Partials once they see the cure for RM?
I am not sure about that. It seems like their hatred of the partials is extremely great, but I am hoping their hate for the government is even stronger and maybe that will bond them with the partials.
49. Were you surprised that Gianna and Owen Tovar turned out to be members of the Voice? Did you expect this of either of them? I found Gianna’s story of why she joined the Voice ironic.
I was surprised, but I shouldn't have been because again, it is the obvious choice. I hate it when authors choose the obvious choices. It is still a very good story though.
50. What did you think of the riot’s aftermath? 200 people were killed as a result of Kira and her friends’ actions that day. Do you think they could have found another way to cause a distraction? Do you agree with Kira, that the loss of those lives was worth it, if the cure works?
I don't think there was any other way. There were way to many people scared of the partial or hating the partial. They never would have made it out of the city unless those people were distracted with something else. I think it will be worth it if they can bring peace with the cure.
51. Do you think Tovar’s plan to get Kira and her friends into the city will work as planned? What problems do you see arising?
I am sure there will be problems, but there has to be a happy ending right? So I am betting that they will overcome the problems and cure RM.

52. We don't know much about Kira but do you think she is 100% Partial (a new 'breed') or a half human/half Partial (a Partial baby as Lisarenee would say)? We know she can age and she has a strong memory of her father -- the man in the photo.
53. Were you surprised by Haru's hostility towards the group? What a douche bag! I can't believe that he would so easily distrust them and not want them to help his daughter.
54. Way to go Madison! I'm so glad she stood up for herself and her baby!
55. The nerve of Hobb and the government to say, "We have discovered a cure..." as if they weren't trying to sidetrack Kira's efforts.
56. Do you think East Meadow's alliance with the Voice will last? Sam predicted that even if there was a cure for RM the discord would still continue. Do you agree? In your opinion what are some of the issues the government have to sort out?
57. Again, I'm amazed by how short sighted everyone in this book is -- more so after Hobb's play on words. No one but Kira is thinking about how the Partials dying would affect the future of the human race.
58. Are you surprised that Marcus chose to go searching for Samm with Kira? Do you think it will take him long to realize that Kira's gunshot wound is healing rapidly?
59. I knew something was up with Nandita! Were you shocked by the picture? Any idea of what the message 'Find the Trust' might mean?
60. What was your overall thought of the book? Star rating and reviews are welcomed.

52. We don't know much about Kira but do you think she is 100% Partial (a new 'breed') or a half human/half Partial (a Partial baby as Lisarenee would say)? We know she can age and she has a strong memory of her father -- the man in the photo.
I think she is just a different kind of Partial. If they can make Partials that don't age and can't reproduce, why couldn't they make one that is human in almost every way? What their purpose was for that I have no idea, but I want to know!
53. Were you surprised by Haru's hostility towards the group? What a douche bag! I can't believe that he would so easily distrust them and not want them to help his daughter.
I can understand his feelings. He trusted them once and it turned into a riot at the hospital where his pregnant wife was and ended with 200 people dead. I imagine I'd be a little more hesitant about putting my baby's life in their hands again.
54. Way to go Madison! I'm so glad she stood up for herself and her baby!
That surprised me in a way. I expected her to have the same kind of reaction as Haru. But maybe seeing her baby ill was too much for her and she decided to blindly trust Kira.
55. The nerve of Hobb and the government to say, "We have discovered a cure..." as if they weren't trying to sidetrack Kira's efforts.
That is so typical of government rhetoric that I actually gave a little chuckle. That was very well written to be very true to life lol.
56. Do you think East Meadow's alliance with the Voice will last? Sam predicted that even if there was a cure for RM the discord would still continue. Do you agree? In your opinion what are some of the issues the government have to sort out?
The main issue is what to do with the Partials. They've outed the fact that Partials are going to die off, can't really put that cat back in the bag. And if they can't replicate the RM cure, they will have to try and go back on what they said before...which could cause some problems.
57. Again, I'm amazed by how short sighted everyone in this book is -- more so after Hobb's play on words. No one but Kira is thinking about how the Partials dying would affect the future of the human race.
They just want to stay in power. Eventually they'll die anyway, as long as they have the biggest toys before then they really don't care.
58. Are you surprised that Marcus chose to go searching for Samm with Kira? Do you think it will take him long to realize that Kira's gunshot wound is healing rapidly?
I thought she didn't let him go....hold on, I gotta look at this again. Okay I read it again, he offered to go and he said no. That part broke my heart, he really is a good guy and she just stomped around on his already fragile emotions. I almost wonder if he'll follow her anyway, or if he'll wallow in his heartbreak for awhile.
59. I knew something was up with Nandita! Were you shocked by the picture? Any idea of what the message 'Find the Trust' might mean?
My jaw literally dropped. I wasn't expecting that at all. Now the question is, where is she? Is she alive? That one part took me from being very ambivalent about this book to wanting to read the next one badly.
60. What was your overall thought of the book? Star rating and reviews are welcomed.
Overall I thought there were some flaws with the plot and it was very predictable at times. But the characters and world building very excellent, and there was enough unexpected twists that I really enjoyed it anyway. I have it a 3 star rating and reviewed it here.

52. We don't know much about Kira but do you think she is 100% Partial (a new 'breed') or a half human/half Partial (a Partial baby as Lisarenee would say)? We know she can age and she has a strong memory of her father -- the man in the photo.
I think she is a different kind of partial. It is obvious that she is not the same as Samm, but it is also obvious that she is not human. I am looking forward to reading the next book to find out exactly what is going to happen.
53. Were you surprised by Haru's hostility towards the group? What a douche bag! I can't believe that he would so easily distrust them and not want them to help his daughter.
Not at all, he was obviously worried for his wife. I am sure when crazy things are happening all around you and you are being told so many different stories that it is hard to decide who is telling the truth.
54. Way to go Madison! I'm so glad she stood up for herself and her baby!
She knew Kira better than Haru and she knew that Kira was doing everything in her power to save Madison's baby. I am glad that she stood up even though I am sure it was scary for her.
55. The nerve of Hobb and the government to say, "We have discovered a cure..." as if they weren't trying to sidetrack Kira's efforts.
I am not surprised, it seemed like they wanted the credit for everything the entire time and they obviously are still full of hatred and cunningness.
56. Do you think East Meadow's alliance with the Voice will last? Sam predicted that even if there was a cure for RM the discord would still continue. Do you agree? In your opinion what are some of the issues the government have to sort out?
I am not sure, they still seem to have differing views on what the best plan of action to carry forward is. I am thinking that if more babies aren't saved soon, then they are going to drift back to their old ways.
57. Again, I'm amazed by how short sighted everyone in this book is -- more so after Hobb's play on words. No one but Kira is thinking about how the Partials dying would affect the future of the human race.
Its the fear. They are all so worried about the partials threats to their lives. They have lived with it for so long that they can't even think of other possibilities. In their defense it doesn't seem like the partials are ready for any treaty either.
58. Are you surprised that Marcus chose to go searching for Samm with Kira? Do you think it will take him long to realize that Kira's gunshot wound is healing rapidly?
No, again, he is showing how desparate he is. I am thinking he is going to get left in the cold eventually.
59. I knew something was up with Nandita! Were you shocked by the picture? Any idea of what the message 'Find the Trust' might mean?
I was shocked as I thought Nandita was a part of the voice. I am wondering what is going to happen with her in the next book. This was by far the best plot twist of the whole book!
60. What was your overall thought of the book? Star rating and reviews are welcomed.
I thought it was a very well written book. I agree with Stefani that there were some very predictable moments but I don't think that made the book any less interesting. I am giving it a four star rating.

#52 - True. I'm also wondering how many different types of Partials there are.
#53 - The fact that he wasn't even willing to put his personal feeling aside to try the cure was selfish IMO. I think I dislike him as much as the government -- if not more.

#59 - At first I thought she was a part of the Voice too but even when I let go of that theory I still knew there was something to her.
#60 - I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to give it 4 star! It's a 2 star read for me unfortunately.

Questions for Chapters 37 - End
52. We don't know much about Kira but do you think she is 100% Partial (a new 'breed') or a half human/half Partial (a Partial baby as Lisarenee would say)? We know she can age and she has a strong memory of her father -- the man in the photo.
My first suspicion, back near the beginning, was that she was half Partial/half human, as when we met the Partials that attacked in Manhattan, Kira was nowhere near as strong as they were, so she couldn't be like them. I'm inclined to stick with that.
53. Were you surprised by Haru's hostility towards the group? What a douche bag! I can't believe that he would so easily distrust them and not want them to help his daughter.
I understand why he was so upset. He did want to protect his wife and son. But yes, he was a jerk. I wanted to throttle him the entire scene for trying to interfere. I mean, his baby was going to die anyway, right? So why not let Kira at least try?
54. Way to go Madison! I'm so glad she stood up for herself and her baby!
Ughh, I wanted her to hit Haru over the head, painfully. Very glad she stepped up.
55. The nerve of Hobb and the government to say, "We have discovered a cure..." as if they weren't trying to sidetrack Kira's efforts.
Yeah, that was weaselly of them.
56. Do you think East Meadow's alliance with the Voice will last? Sam predicted that even if there was a cure for RM the discord would still continue. Do you agree? In your opinion what are some of the issues the government have to sort out?
I think the truce with the Voice was temporary - a relief over the cure for RM. Maybe they decided to put away their differences to figure out how to find more of the cure together, but it won't last. As long as the Senate is full of power-hungry slimeballs, as long as the Voice wants to be free, there will be problems. I thought it was a bit...easy, I guess, to have both sides reunited so magically at the end, so quickly, like nothing happened. I think there was even something said about some Senate members admitting their mistakes to the people....I don't know. Maybe I'm cynical, but I think that it would take more than the cure for RM to reunite everyone, to pacify everyone, etc. I think the government will have to figure out how to find more of the cure - do they capture Partials before they're all dead? Do they try to work with them before it's too late? I think the people are going to have differing opinions on the best course of action and the government will have to deal with that.
57. Again, I'm amazed by how short sighted everyone in this book is -- more so after Hobb's play on words. No one but Kira is thinking about how the Partials dying would affect the future of the human race.
Yes, I agree. Although perhaps some people are thinking about it...just not in the government. And that might be explored in the sequel.
58. Are you surprised that Marcus chose to go searching for Samm with Kira? Do you think it will take him long to realize that Kira's gunshot wound is healing rapidly?
I think Marcus began to realize that he would lose Kira if he didn't man-up, in a sense. I think she will tell him, eventually. I don't think he's going to have a great reaction, but that might be because she just broke his heart.
59. I knew something was up with Nandita! Were you shocked by the picture? Any idea of what the message 'Find the Trust' might mean?
You were right! I have no clue, but I loved this twist.
60. What was your overall thought of the book? Star rating and reviews are welcomed.
I haven't posted a review, but I rated it 4 stars. Realistically, it's between 3.5 and 4 stars, but when I can't decide, I tend to round up. I enjoyed it, despite some of the problems I had with it. I'm not often surprised in books, and some of the twists here really shocked me. Of course, other parts were overly predictable, so it balances out a little bit. I liked the premise and the world, though, and with the exception of the medical jargon chapters, I didn't want to put it down.

#59 - At first I thought she was a part of the Voice too but even when I let go of that theory I still knew there was something to her.
#60 - I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to give it 4 sta..."
Really, I think I am going to go back and change it to a three star rating. I didn't like it enough for it to be a four star rating. I don't know why I rated it that way.

Consensual, admiration...none of that really matters when we're talking about a teenager and her superior. Both of those are reasons he should have said no way, even if she was throwing herself on top of him lol.
