Bennard! Wow. Bennard is the new K.D.! hakhak.
Di ba ganyan ang mga sikat? Hinahanapan ng "new" version?
Legend? Ako na ang Alamat!
Alamat ni kayding makabayan. O alamat ni kayding sinukuan.
REMINDERAfter the F2F on Saturday, you will be ask to vote (secret balloting) our book for October 2012:
Theme: Women
Moderator: D.C.
1)
LITTLE WOMEN
by Louisa May Alcott
2)
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
by Jane Austen
3)
THE SECRET GARDEN
by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Kuya D, baka naman matabangan ang ilan nating mga members dahil classic na naman ito since 6 months haven't passed yet when we had a classic book: Jane Eyre. Why don't we got for a more contemporary outlook on women with these modern books from the TFG 100:
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood (this will be great to compliment our reading of 1984)
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
It's just my suggetion, though. :)
May pang-archery na ako sa 23rd! Haha! May kumagat dun sa Eclipse (deluxe edition) na nakuha ko from Readercon last year :P
On October: Sana manalo ang Pride and Prejudice :) mas mahirap siyang basahin alone kaya dapat may motivation.
Jzhun, sayang. So far, biggest F2F yon. Kahit female writer-female protagonist maraming guys na pumunta. Let's reserve those books for next year. :)Rollie: Ako rin, The Secret Garden :). Light reading kasi Children's books yan silang 2 ng "Little Women."

Oh, well. Sa Little Women ako dahil first at favorite book ito ng ating edgy member, si Kristel! :D
March, Little Women, March!
Pede rin akong Little Women. Gusto ko rin yan. Wag lang ang P&P. Sobrang ewan. hak hak. Pero may friend ako na nagre-read after 9 years. From 2 stars naging 4. Siguro, di pa lang ako prepared when I read this 2 years ago. Actually, bata yata ito throughout the story eh. Unlike yong Little Women na tatanda towards the end. Yong P&P, matanda na talaga. So yong "Women" na theme, very appropriate: women writers, women protagonists.
Bakit wala Little Princess sa choices?
Tricia, TFG 100 din ang The Little Princes. Kaso nag-Little Prince na tayo this year.
Hello! Hehehe, nakakatuwa magback read, hehe. Tama na ang Little-little! Malalaki na tayo! LOL. Hehe
Happy Father's Day Kuya Doni and Emir!
About the book, ang haba ng introductory eklat, pero nagulat ako kasi kahit nakakaasar basahin yun mga kakatwang mga ngalan at lugar, napansin kong naeenjoy kong basahin yung libro. :D Hahaha!
Excited.
K.D. wrote: "Pareho yata yong actor na gumanap ng mga roles na yan kaya nai-imagine mo hak hak"Yes, Sir Ian McKellen was the actor who played the role for both iconic characters. :)
Yes. I shall be an observer to the event. Hirap na hirap ako sa pagbasa ng LOTR. as in. Hindi ko alam kung bakit. Pero nahihirapan akong mamotivate. I shall try my best over this week. Do or die round na ito. Hay.
Puro OT ha haha"no choice... take it or take it ang labanan sa trabaho ko... hehehe!
hi guys,. noobie po ako sa goodreads and sa Filipino group.. pag pumunta po ako sa sat.. pwede bang observer lang ako.. hehe.. while reading through the threads, parang may Q and A portion eh.. hehehe
Okay lang yan nico. May sasalo naman ng tanong for you. Ako rin malaki ang chance maging observer. But i shall watch the movie too. Try and watch the movie para makarelate ka rin. But there are general questions naman that we can answer. :)
Angus wrote: "Kwesi: Sa Little Women ako, para kapag binasa ko ang March ay prepared na ako."Flourescent, let's do a Book Buddy. Inaamag na rin ang copy ko. Haha! :D
Yan talaga ang next Pulitzer ko eh."Yes, I was referring to March by Geraldine Brooks, Kuya D. :)
Flora March: After Little Women na, basta sa October.
May sasalo naman ng tanong for you. Ako rin malaki ang chance maging observer. But i shall watch the movie too. Try and watch the movie para makarelate ka rin. But there are gen..."I have read the LOTR series including the hobbit.. im starting on the syl already.. pero manga-ngapa muna ako,. hehe.. kung questions lang.. cguro I would be able to answer one or two.. hehehe thanks! :)
hahaha! di naman ako spoiler.. hehehe.. :)
Oh, don't worry too much about not being able to answer questions. No one will sneer at you or kill you hak hak. Since this is a book discussion and your personal interpretation will definitely come into play, there is no right or wrong answers. There are also cases when you were sleepy while reading a certain part of the book so missing somethings is understandable. Especially because this is a thick book.
:) see you soon!I'm all for Pride and Prejudice!
