There is no comparison. TMI ALL THE WAY!!! Twilight was okay, though it was not nearly good enough to define the urban fantasy drama like some people think it does.

seems as evetyone voted for TMI, as I do. not much of a compitition! I don't HATE twilight, in fact, the idea for the story is good. and the writing is ok. it's the characters I dislike. (actually though, I LOVE Jacob as a charictor in the first book, before he's a werewolf)anyways, TMI all the way! Cassandra Clare is my favorite author.
TMI! Twilight could've been awesome if not for my hatred of Bella which totally ruined the book for me.
In my opinion TMI is way better. I liked Twilight the first two times I read it, but then i realized i really didnt liked the series that much.
TMI has more action, badass characters, and is hilarious! Totally love the saga.
Definitely no question THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS. in twilight bella always plays the victim and I love how no matter what happens to clary she never says poor me or relies on any of the guys. also twilight is just so annoying ... like who dates a guy who wanted to drink ur blood all the time..?!? haha in TMI each of the characters have sich distinct personalities and trademarks and they are much more relatable characters for teenagers. and I could only get through the fiest two twilight books because they were NOT gripping at all and there were no good cliffhanger at all -.- and it was written so boringly....but the MORTAL instruments was so much better it is so gripping I get in trouble for readong too much and it is so addictive and addicting that I am always talking about it on twitter and goodreads! there are a ton of cliffhanger as well I LOVE IT! Ans Cassandra Clare is the best writer ever! she describes things and people so perfectly that u feel like u r there with the characters, she also puts so much into the characters they r so relatable and each uniquely different. I love TMI series
I completely agree. While Clary is willing to do anything for the shadowhunters, Bella just kinda waits for them to go first an hardly joins in.
TMI is a thousand times better written and very funny at times. To celebrate the hot teen movie The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones this August, Myths and Motifs of The Mortal Instruments will be free from the publisher for two days only!
Free August 23 and 24 2013 at http://www.amazon.com/Myths-Motifs-Mo...
Mortal Instruments, and after seeing the TMI movie tonight, Bella & Edward have nothing on Clary & Jace.
Of course TMI! It's better written, the heroine Clary is so much better than Bella and the plot is more complicated and unpredictable. First of all Clary is a heroine that many girls(including me) can relate to. She lives as a normal teenage girl, she's funny, she has friends and then she become brave and doesn't rely on anybody. On the other hand Bella cries all the time and is always the victim and waits for Edward to save her.Although Edward is one of my favourite characters i will vote Jace because he's funny,he behaves like any other boy that you can meet,he's brave and mainly he's not Clary's puppy. And thank god he's not a virgin! :P Also the story has a plot that is more interesting and unpredictable. I hope Clary won't have a child in the last book at the age of 17.
Definitely TMI! I love the variety of characters and supernatural beings. The story line is also more in-depth, and I love how humor is incorporated throughout the entire series. The Mortal Instruments is definitely the better series in my book!
Well I guess it depends on what you like. Honestly I found Twilight's characters for the most part to be depressing, humorless and weak. In fact I gave up on some of the Twilight books. The best ones are the final books where there is more action. On the flip side TMI's characters are funny, dark, and not afraid of action. So for me I say TMI by about far. I could not put TMI down. I was invested in each character and wanted more. I prefer my characters not to be the victim in every situation. With Twilight even Edward was a victim. He was not the guy who stepped up IMO he was the one who gave up.
lol are you seriouslike is this actually a question
twilight? really
thats not even in the same league as tmi
hahaha
THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS ALL THE WAY
IS THIS EVEN A REAL QUESTION????????OMG MORTAL INSTRUMENTS IS WAAAAAAAY BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and the characters are so much more interesting and the storyline better and it's generally more interesting and a better original idea.
Hi!Lol..well, while I am an adult, I have been a big Twilight fan. I haven't read anything since the Saga. Then came The Mortal Instruments! I first saw the trailer during BD! And then I came across the books..and that was it! I honestly can say that..The Mortal Instruments is WAY better than Twilight! Never thought I'd say that!
Twilight is simply horrid compared to the TMI series. The main character Clary had so much more substance than Bella who seemed to latch on to Edward's every word. Clary actually thinks for herself and counteracts Jace when he says something wrong. It's obvious that Twilight will never reach the level that TMI puts into it's characters.
Of course TMI!I mean, you can't exactly compare Twilight, which is used as a don't-write-like-that example, to the Mortal Instruments!
TMI has a more solid plot, the characters have more depth, the language is more advanced, and the very idea of the book is more genuine!
The Mortal Instruments, hands down! You definitely can't go wrong with this incredibly amazing and entertaining series!
The Mortal Instruments. This isn't even something to debate about. Twilight is made up of sappy love and thats it. Only about one fourth of it consists of action and such where the TMI has action but at the same time love parts, so it balances out evenly. Plus those love triangles can get REALLY ANNOYING!!!!! A agree with what Eleanor said, Bella doesnt really have any character. She just, agrees with Edward even when some times YOU KNOW he is wrong. With Clary, she is open to correct Jace like all the time. And she has he own character and thinks for herself.
there is absolutely no comparison, Mortal Instruments, DUH!
I was a Twilight fan back in the day... So no hate towards that series.....
BUT THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS IS PERFECTION AND TWILIGHT CAN'T COMPARE!
In this case anyway.
The Mortal Instruments for the win! This series seems so much more complex and has a lot more depth then Twilight. TMI also doesn't only focus on what the lovers have to get through. It focuses a lot on other characters as well.
The Mortal Instruments! I love all the books and the way Cassandra Clare twist everything it's just awesome you can't never expect anyone or anything...Twilight it's a little bit expected...
SPOILERS FOR ALL TWILIGHT BOOKS AND BOOKS 1 - 4 OF THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTSTwilight book 1. A girl has a crush on a strange boy who acts weird around her. They eventually fall in love and it turns out he's a vampire.
TMI book 1. A girl's mother is kidnapped, she meets a strange boy who turns out to have been raised by her own father who she has always believed to have been dead and who is intent on destroying the world.
Twilight book 2. A girl's boyfriend moves away and she sits in her room, depressed for MONTHS. She almost accidentally kills herself (whoops), her boyfriend think she really is dead and tries to kill himself but she saves him (and the Romeo and Juliet theme stops there).
TMI book 2. A girl's boyfriend turns out to be her brother, her mother is in a magical coma which she can't be woken up from without an antidote from an unknown location, her dad is still evil and her best friend becomes a vampire.
Twilight book 3. A girl and her friends are being hunted by an army of vampires, her boyfriend proposes, she accepts, despite hating marriage and also having another boy in love with her.
TMI book 3. A girl travels to a magical world (and almost dies when she gets there) despite her brother's best efforts to keep her away. Her friends are attacked and almost killed as they leave and her best friend gets thrown in jail when he arrives in the magical world. Her dad has reached the end of his plan and is about to destroy the world. She finds out that her old boyfriend isn't her brother gets kissed by a boy who is her real brother (turns out he's evil as well). Her mother wakes up and both her boyfriend and dad are killed right in front of her but her boyfriend comes back to life after she asks an angel to do that for her.
Twilight book 4. A girl gets married and gets pregnant with a demon-foetus who almost kills her. She actually does die but becomes a vampire and therefore undead. The government want to kill her kid because they think it's an immortal child who will kill everyone else, even though her kid isn't. There's a massive fight except not because someone explains the situation and they let them go to live happily ever after.
TMI book 4. A girl can FINALLY be with her boyfriend, but he is getting weird dreams about killing the people he loves so he keeps away from her. He eventually gets possessed by a greater demon who is working for the girls evil brother. The girl's mother is about to get married but it doesn't happen because the girl's boyfriend comes back and kidnaps her. Her real brother who was killed in book 3 is brought back to life, and binds her boyfriend to him so he will follow him and become part of him. And the story continues...
I think its obvious what story is better. Not to say twilight is bad, it's just that I don't think it's nearly as good as TMI.
