which series is better twilight or the mortal instruments?

The Mortal Instruments are so much better! I am not a fan of Twilight. Bella is way to whiny for my tastes and she relies on Edward too much. Plus Edward is just creepy. Jace on the other hand is hot and hilarious. My friends and I talk about TMI all the time too but we never talked about Twilight. Clary is also a stronger main character. She actually fights for what she believes in and she doesn't just sit around and act all helpless. The plot is also so much better! As soon as I finished City of Bones I needed the next book so bad. I can't stop thinking about the characters. But I really didn't like the Twilight books. In my opinion they were fairly boring.
So TMI is so much better!

is not just another love story but it also has comedy, action and drama, You can relate to the characters, it has a great background you feel sympathy for their pain.

I'm both fans of Twilight and The Mortal Instruments.
Though, i only watched the Twilight movies... i don't have time to read it and my mom says it's too focused on love story will will probably bore me to death.

I'd have to say my choice goes to: The Mortal Instruments.

the mortal instruments without a doubt !! i didnt mind reading the twilight saga but at times i was hella annoyed ! bella was just an annoying character i had hoped her character wouldve turned out better. i wanted more action from the twilight series.

now why i absolutely LOVE TMI is because:
1- i HVE NEVER BEEN BORED FROM READING IT ! I COULDNT PUT THE BOOK DOWN ONCE I STARTED!
2- very creative
3-characters are well developed that sometimes i feel they are real call me psycho but i feel i can really connect to them
4- the plot is great
5- when reading the books im always on the tip of my toes pacing back and forth in my room because how much i lose myself while reading the books
6- there is ACTIONNNN!!!! ( DAM BREAKING DAWN ANNOYED THE HELL OUT OF ME IN THE END WHEN THERE WASNT JUST COMPLETELY PISSED))
7- I love SIMON. i love his friendship with clary that to me it is one of the most beautiful relationships in the book
8- cassandra is really good at making jace extremely hot and having me laugh at everything he says ( well not everythin)
9- i love all the characters in the book ! they all stand out on their own have their own personalities that i love reading from their POVs
10- i love how cassandra ( as the series continues) lets us read from simons pov and the rest of the characters.
11- i love this series so much that i can continue typing all night why i love it. so its better i just stop here cuz i have a lot to do tomorrow and i will need my energy.

EVERYONE SHOULD READ THE INFERNAL DEVICES. THE BOOK IS ANOTHER SHADOW HUNTER BOOK BY CASSIE JUST SET IN THE VICTORIAN ERA. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR EVERYONE TO READ!

The Mortal Instruments is better because it's unexpected. It keeps you in suspense. Twilight is like every other supernatural romance out there. Though the Mortal Insruments series is better, you can't deny that Twilight is a good series.

SO, The Mortal Instuments is brilliant :)
Why:
1. The story line is far more interesting and well woven.
2. The characters are better. We see more development, growth and backstory. Plus they are just great to relate to and love. There's more variation.
3. The romance is more in depth and less 'OMG I love him' as soon as she sees him. It's much more well written.

That's about all I can think of atm.

I agree! Edward was just so perfect and predictable, as was most of the plot. Jace had plenty of issues and faults, which made him much more realistic and believable. I agree that the Mortal Instruments was much more unexpected. There were so many twists and turns in comparison to Twilight. It made it much more interesting.

I do love both series but i'd have to say The Mortal Instruments. I love it because of the awesome characters eg. Jace <3 and that it is a longer series to get you interested. Plus i've read TMI more than twilight :)

Both are good but you are less likely to get bored with The Mortal Instruments because Cassandra Clare is an amazing author.
