Wow Alan, That is my all time favorite word.

My college English Professor always told me I was the most gregarious student she knew...I remember running home and looking up gregarious in the dictionary…relieved that it was not an insult :]

Stats: 54 pages, 13,500 words, 2.16 pages and 540 words per day average. Submitted my immigration article & an article on "The Promise of Critiques". That article is at http://positivepr.livejournal.com

A.D. | 90 comments Final February stats: 59 pages, 14,740 words. That is my highest ever monthly total since I kept a record of that stat in 2005!
I am critiquing 3 stories from my new online critique group. Also amazing is that myspace blog just hit the 3,000th hit. Unfortunately, with March and sunshine I suspect my other work will now pull me away from the keyboard.

LOL that would've been just mean on your parents part. Although my initials are PAM. And my dad's are JAM. Which is funny. He wanted to have my little brother be ZAM, but Mom wanted to name him after her father, so he became ZGM.

message 60: by A.D. (new)

A.D. | 90 comments Well my sister was GAS and it became GAG and we call our brother "BS", which is fitting.
Ok, new month. Suppose to make a target? let's say; 30 pages and 7,500 words. Not real with the spring sun peeking out and my novel almost done, that I would find enough time and material to keep up the pace of last month.
Off to a good start: March 2, 2009 8 pages and 1.996 words. Really got into a big shoot out scene for Episode IV. Word of the week: "Impetus": Driving force or motive. [in- upon + peire to seek:] "What is the impetus which causes us to write is a mystery."

A.D. | 90 comments March 4th, 2009 10 pages, 2,502 words. 2.5 pages a day and 625.5 words a day! Sent out 3 critiques this week and finished my research of ports in the US which enables me to finish my 4 part article, one part already submitted. If you like funny, see my article "Why do I write SF?" at www.soulcast.com/Scribbles This is the site where I write whimsical pieces for fun.

message 63: by A.D. (new)

A.D. | 90 comments March 8th, 2009 22 pages, 5,500 words. That is 2.75 pages a day and 687.5 words a day average. 2/3's the way to my target. I just finished my rough draft of my SF novel, "The First Phylum". I actually got emotional about my own ending. It is about 50,000 words. I also finished Episode IV. "Sweet Dreams" of The adventures of Captain Adam Smith" series.
Now I have editing and proofreading to do. Two activities which afford no pages or words, and yet neccessary.

message 64: by A.D. (new)

A.D. | 90 comments Since someone decided to switch me from the "S" to the "A" section, I lost my following. March 12, 2009 and I have 24 pages and 6,000 words so far. Average is 2 pages a day and 500 words.
I also started my first "Romance" genre story called: "Love for Ransom". I also posted a list of 27 writing contests and awards at: http://positivepr.livejournal.com

Found a neat quote on Writer's Nook website: "In a very real sense, people who have read good literature have lived more than people who cannot or will not read. It is not true that we have only one life to lead; if we can read, we can live as many more lives and as many kinds of lives as we wish." S. I. Hayakawa

A.D. | 90 comments Just got back from Norwescon. A SF convention in Seattle Washington. Been off the mark because of it. At 13 pages (April 13, 2009) 3,250 words. Got some great ideas and rubbed elbows with editors and authors etc. Good leads on markets and handed out some cards of my own. Thanks for the brownies. I can smell them?

Hey I just read the issues you went through with AEG. That really sucks that people can be so underhanded, sigh.

Great word count :]

message 91: by A.D. (new)

The question of the day: Are you an Organic Writer?

Wendy (wendyswore) HI AD, I like your word of the day. I've never heard of it before. Your word counts are outstanding too.

I just read how you were glad to not have that last S in your initials. I relate to that!

My middle name is an S. (given to all first daughters in the line since... forever) and my last is Swore. So my daughter was born and of course she had so be a something S. Swore. I really liked the name Alexis, so we could call her Lexi for short, but just as we were about to write it on the birth certificate, I realized what the initials would be.

needless to say I didn't name her Alexis.

have a happy writing day!
