Now just give us the links to your books and we'll tweet them to high heaven! Hmm...

Well, OK, bit of a flaw there, but at least you get to set the next task! :)"

Perhaps the Gaulimaufry could be tweeted as it's very much Ignite's baby?

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Ignite, we could all tweet about you giving good feedback and being a GR reviewer and Amazon Top 1000 Reviewer. I'v plenty of writers among my followers alone - You'll never have to pay for a book again! ;)

I also dithered between about three entries. All very good. I was a stickler and went with an entry that satisfied the given assignment ;)

So what's next then, Ignite? :)

message 153: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Erm. OK. How do I tweet a Gallimaufrey? I haven't even got any followers!

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Give us your twitter name and we'll think up some suitable tweets of high praise ;)

message 155: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments @kathmidd

message 156: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments This is ludicrous. I'm following a few of you - Andrew Lawston is now following me. Don't follow me, I'm lost! I must find out how to tweet. So far it would be easier to PM Andrew!

message 157: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I'm thinking of a piece of music? Anyone know how to get a link so everyone can hear it?

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments youtube usually has most music on it

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments I've just sent out a recommendation for people to follow you ;)

message 160: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Right. You're a geek. (And I mean that in the nicest POSSIBLE way!)

Can you find a link to the Meditation from Thais by Massenet?

(Gives good reviews eh? A few people won't tell you that! You have to write a good book first!)

message 161: by D.M. Andrews (author) (last edited Jun 12, 2012 05:38AM) (new)

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments There's quite a few of that piece, but this one seems better quality soundwise than some others:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ajCJF...

(may you be sent many interesting books!) ;)

message 162: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments That sounds pretty good. What do you think, Oh Great One? A piece of writing, max 250 words, inspired by that music.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Sounds like a good title. Stops me getting confused when you're talking about the other Darren.

Oh, you mean the contest? Yes, nice music - though I personally think 200 should be the max otherwise it starts cutting into book writing time ;)

message 164: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Please en a new thread entitled Writing Contest #2 when you get sorted, okay?

We don't want things to be any more confusing than they already are...

message 165: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments OK 200. We'll let The Great One start it eh? He's in charge.

message 166: by Jay-me (Janet) (new)

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Patti (Stir Crazy) wrote: "Please en a new thread entitled Writing Contest #2 when you get sorted, okay?

And that would be impossible rather difficult

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments I shall write a book called "Confusion". Then I can be the author of Confusion ;)

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments So the entrants can write anything inspired by the music or do you want to be more specific? It's hard to compare the entries when one is a poem, another humour, another serious, another something else...

This music would inspire some sort of scene or mood, I should think...

message 169: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Do you want to make it all prose and then no-one will say, Ha! That's her again and I can enter once more incognito? Serious description inspired by the music.

Sorry to have been away so long - I've been weeding!

message 170: by D.M. Andrews (author) (last edited Jun 12, 2012 07:23AM) (new)

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Have you got any more followers yet? :)

"Serious description" sounds good. Humour, dialogue, poems, etc. can be done in the future. We'll just make sure no one picks the same things too often.

Is Patti still taking the submissions?

message 171: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I got the impression that's what she fingered you for.
I've got 7 followers. That's nearly as many as the people I know in real life.

message 172: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments It would be brilliant if someone else could accept, keep track of and post the submissions.

Seriously, I'm inundated with stuff I need to keep track of at the moment. I'm sorry.

Darren, perhaps you could do this one, then Jud can take over after this week?

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Is it appropriate for an entrant/author to do it? Or would it just be taking the submissions and not the poll?

7 followers? A book for each day of the week ;)

message 174: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments It sounds like you would just accept the submissions. Patti would need to so the poll as it has to be set up by a moderator.

message 175: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yes, just the submissions Darren.

I'll still do the poll. I believe the group is set so that only mods can set up polls, so Simon or I would have to do it.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Make Simon do some work then - the lazybones!

message 177: by Mark (new)

Mark Faulkner (markrfaulkner) | 464 comments Well done Ignite on a well deserved win.
And what a stunning piece of music.

At the moment I think I still have more free time than Simon.

Or he's lying to me. ;)

message 179: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I've started the contest #2 thread. Is it just to write 200 words to describe the music or a scene inspired by the music or perhaps either or both?

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments A serious scene that the music inspires. Thanks, Jud!

message 181: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Inspired by the music Jud. Prose, max 200 words.

message 182: by Mark (new)

Mark Faulkner (markrfaulkner) | 464 comments When's the deadline?

message 183: by Philip (sarah) (new)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Congratulations Ignite, very well done!

message 184: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Dunno. I thought DM Andrews was organising it. I've scared him off!

message 185: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Please please can someone tell me who voted for me?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Did anyone vote for me? Can I find out?

message 187: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I assume Patti knows. Will she tell?

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Story of my life. Always the runner up, never the winner.

I voted for ignite.

Anyone interested in swapping weeding for watching a three million quid project go up in flames?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Oh dear. I do hope they can't manage to put any of the blame on you!

It'd be a novelty!

I have my fireproof underpants on but it is getting warm.

Have you been eating curry again?

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Nope, not run away - just in the midst of HTML formatting. Yuck...

message 194: by Darren (new)

Darren Humphries (darrenhf) | 6903 comments Of course, Ignite, the prize for winning is the expectation of your book on kindle in the very near future.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Indeed it is! May I suggest a title?:

"The Woman from U.K.A.K.F."

message 196: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Suggest away boys! All I need is a talent for telling a story - and that I DON'T have. The ending would be blindingly obvious and if I tried to weave two story lines together I'd finish up in the corner with my limbs knotted up like a failed yoga guru!

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments You could do it in epic verse form - like El Cid or Beowulf or something... ;)

message 198: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I've not read El Cid but I have read Beowulf. It's a bit too exciting - I'd have to keep having a lie down.

message 199: by Katy (new)
