message 204: by Panisoara (new)

Panisoara (OPanisoara) | 3 comments The seven medals of success presents the adventures of two children who win, one by one, the medals of courage, cooperation, curiosity, patience, creativity, perseverance and empathy. In their journey they are accompanied by Memo, the dwarf of their memory; he reminds them certain events in their life and they learn the rules of each psychological characteristic.
The book contains stories for children about developing personal success skills and it is based on psychological and pedagogical studies. Every chapter of the book has a Parent's Corner, with a short description of the psychological concepts and exercises for developing each personal trait. Also, every chapter includes a poem because psycho-pedagogical studies demonstrate children learn easier by combining the linguistic and the „musical” intelligence.
We, the authors are university researchers and professors: G. Panisoara has a Ph.D. in Psychology and I.O. Panisoara has a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences.
The patience poem (fragment from the ebook)
Do you know Trici – the caterpillar?
She cried: her beauty was no thriller
But time marched on, as it went by
She turned to a fine butterfly
Here is why:
You want time to pass by quicker,
“I want to play now,” you dicker,
You want to grow up much faster.
But patience is what you must master.
If you have patience you will learn
To calm yourself and wait your turn
Step by step you will succeed
Patience is the thing you need.

Ash | 8 comments Hi I'm Ashlei,or Ash on Goodreads. I am slowly finishing my Graduate degree in Counseling as well as all of the other certifications required to become fully licensed in the current state I live in. I have already gained a few years of actual working experience in the counseling field, & I prefer substance abuse, especially when dealing with adolescent clients. Even before I decided to pursue my graduate degree & enter this field, I have devoured books about mental illness, & the study of, as well as different theories as to why they are present in the brain of those that suffer/live with them. I am & always will be fascinated with this topic. The brain is an amazing thing.

Scott Bonn (DocBonn) | 21 comments Wonderful news! The legendary FBI profiler, Roy Hazelwood, who pioneered profiling in the 1980s and developed the "organized" versus "disorganized" classification of serial killers has given my book his highest 5-star rating! He says, "I can say with confidence that readers will find it an interesting, informative, and educational read." To read his and 30 other 5-star reviews of my book visit: http://www.amazon.com/Why-Love-Serial...

Neil Hayes | 5 comments Hi, I am Neil. I have a BA and a doctoral degree in Psychology from Oxford University. For my doctoral work, I specialised in the unconscious mind, which led me to Eastern psychology. I have been a psychologist and meditator ever since, and have written a book on the subject I am very enthusiastic about helping people to manage their own minds, and therefore the future of our beautiful planet.

Sofie (soofjan) Hi everyone! I'm Sofie, a second-year Psychology student in the Netherlands who loves to read! I've come to the conclusion that life is too short to read everything I'd like, but I try to keep up! This goes for fiction as well as scientific books. I would like to get my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology by the end of 2017 :)

Asli Theobald | 2 comments Hi, My name is Asli ("Ashley") Theobald. I am a Turkish investigative journalist who has recently become a U.S. citizen. I found this group in my efforts to help raise awareness to the unethical promotion of mental health drugs whose long-term side effects do not justify their benefits. Are you interested in next month reviewing my recent book on the misleading marketing and long-term side effects of ADHD medications? This book does not contain the personal biases of its author but only peer reviewed study findings, results of congressional, FBI and reporter investigations and court documents which readers can instantly view by clicking on the citation numbers (the book contains 550 electronic references). This is nevertheless an easy-to-read book for the average laymen including mothers.

Most of you may already be familiar with how the wealthy pharmaceutical industry funds and promotes the studies serving to increase their profits. The peer-reviewed studies my book draws attention to are those which have been published in top medical journals, but do not get any attention due to not being promoted with drug industry funds.

Please let me know if this group would like to review and discuss this controversial topic based on only well-supported evidence. I would love to hear your valued opinions. Thank you.

Danica (anzlotte) | 1 comments Hello, I'm Danica. I'm 25 this year and only just thinking about going back to uni to study what I wanted to originally - mental health and counseling as it's always fascinated me but now it's more important to me than ever. I've been through depression, anxiety and emotional/mental abuse.
I want to make someone else's life better, even if it's just a little.
