We are just a week away (we start June 4th) from kicking off the Book Club over at http://hungergames-forums.com/ and our subsequent discussions of the books, beginning with chapters one and two of "The Hunger Games."

I would like to mention that you do not have to have access to the books to join the discussion, but it is encouraged that you do so you can read the upcoming chapter and will know the confines of what can be discussed and be generally well acquainted with the material in each chapter. We can provide a good link that includes much of the first book, but some material is missing. It should however be sufficient for those that do not have access to the book.

So what can be discussed? Well pretty much anything! Maybe you would like to talk about your favorite moment in the chapter, or maybe there is something you were confused about and you would like others to maybe help clarify it or offer their input. Perhaps there is a great quote you'd like to mention. If you would like to just summarize the chapter for everyone or highlight the major parts that is fine. Since the first book has been made into a movie, I suppose you are welcome to mention any comparisons and what not, but I would prefer discussion primarily pertain to the book.

Really though, any discussion regarding the chapter is welcome. Perhaps there will even be debate? Who knows where it will take us! If you are not particularly interested in the club and discussions, I encourage you to just stop by and contribute something to the discussion, no matter how small. This Book Club is what truly sets this forum apart from all the others.

So what can you expect? Well once a week (every monday) a new thread dedicated to the next chapter will be posted in whatever book we are currently reading. A brief summary of the chapter will be included and some discussion questions just to get us started. Throughout that week we will have discussion about that chapter and then move on to the next. During that week you may also get ready for the next chapter by reading it and thinking about what you would like to discuss when the time comes. We are of course going to start with a recap of chapters one and two of the first book on June 4th. And then on June 11th we'll discuss chapter 3 ect...
