People who start threads like this seem to generally not understand what "dystopian" means.

I totally agree with everything you said Kala!
Although if I were to choose any name I'd make it something unusual like Romi.
P.s I love your name Kala!:)
My name would be Elysia. Or Elyse. It means home of the blessed. The second one is pronounced e-ly-see.
This might not be very 'dystopian' but I like Delwyn, because it's linked to the zodiac sign Cancer (which is my zodiac sign). It's a Christian name which means 'Proud friend; friend from the valley'.I think it's pretty and sounds Welsh - I am also half Welsh hmm!
My dystopian name would probably be Athenais (derives from the ancient Greek goddess Athena) or Nephele.
This is actually so hard, I've read through some of the posts above and really like:Aspen
Shadow
Storm
I also love Cadence, Celestia, Maia and Mistique.
Oh, gosh there are so many. I do LOVE Echo too.
I think "Scarlett Wrath". I already use this name when I write stupid fanfiction for myself. I just really like "Wrath" as an surname!
Alastriana, I know it isn't in a dystopian, but I think it would fit, and I absolutely love the name.
How are you all even defining what a "dystopian name" is? Would you consider the names "Winston Smith" and "Julia" to be "dystopian"? Because
1984
.
Iris. Because I'm in love with that name for years already! It is a flower and the Greek word for rainbow? I'm not so sure with the greek word, though. Haha!

I have never come across Elspeth before, it sounds really cool, were did you get the name/idea for name from? (ok I know cool is not the best describing word, but right now I cant think of a better one) : )

Dystopian handles? Hmmm...Lysil (game character after looking at a can of Lysol. I just changed one letter and pronunciation to Lis-elle and it grew on me. Lol.
Caesonia (roman name. Emperor Caligula's most beloved wife. Feminine of Caesar. I always liked it. I pronounce it Ki-sewn-ee-uh. With a hard K instead of a soft "s" of Caesar.)
Amarah (with or without the silent "h". Three syllables. Pronounced Uh-mar-uh. Meaning: Eternal, unfading.)
Skayda (came from a book but without the "y". Two syllables. Original pronunciation probably Scad-uh. I like skay-duh better. Meaning: Shadow, dark.)
Andreziana (another book character name. Five syllables. Pronunciation: On-dray-zee-on-uh or An-drey-zee-an-uh. Shortened to Ana, Zia or Ziana. Not sure of the meaning.)
Taelian/Taylian (various spellings. Three syllables. Pronounced Tay-lee-in. I had a cat named Taelian once.)
Taelyn/Taylyn (various spellings. Two syllables. Pronounced Tay-lin.)
Not sure about boys but Tae would make a decent male name. Pronounced Tay (like Fay, lay, say or bay).
Charlene Turner from Kingdom KeepersThen if I end up in dystopian Chicago, in the Dauntless faction, I could change my name to Char, Lene, or maybe I would change my name completely to Marlene....
I don't know why, but I like names that end in n. So maybe:
Salan
Aelin (Throne of Glass)
Rogue (X Men)
Liss
Aran
Laden
Salan
Aelin (Throne of Glass)
Rogue (X Men)
Liss
Aran
Laden
I like Avalon. And I know this is a little out there but I also like Euphoria, and a nickname could be Phori.
Maybe my own name (Eva) because even though i haven't found a book with my name i kinda think it's a good name for a dystopian book character.Or Katerina that would be cool too
My name would be Annie (short for Annora). Or maybe it would be Kata short for Kataleipó. It means leave behind in Greek and if I were to leave behind my blood family for another faction, that would be my name. To honor them.
