Task 30.8, option B4, requires that you state how you got your free book."

My apologies. I've reposted.

The copy of A Game of Thrones you've linked to shows 694 pages (good for 1 BB ticket). If you did indeed read an edition with 864 pages as you indicated in your post (which would entitle you to 2 BB tickets), please repost linking to the correct edition and noting that the repost is to claim the other BB ticket.

Task 20.7, option 1, requires that you read a book by an author who died since 1/1/90, so an author death in 1942 doesn't fit the task.

Task 20.8 is a one book task - so you may want to move one of the books you listed to another task!

SARAH THE LIBRARIAN post 2489
Task 5.9 requires a link to the member's profile page, rather than to her bookshelf - the bookshelf doesn't tell me when she joined GR.

I always suck at linking the correct edition. I just pick the first one that comes up when I type in the title of the book. I did read the 864 pg edition but I am too lazy to link it properly so go ahead and just give me the one ticket. I was mainly just late minute fitting in the books I read to tasks so that I could set a goal to improve over for the fall challenge.

Task 20.9 requires that you include in your post the task number for which you claimed points for "book X."

For task 25.8, option A2, you need to include your location as well as..."

Sorry! I have now reposted those two tasks with the correct information

For future reference, the easiest (and most reliable) way I've found to do it is to look up the edition I've read by the ISBN and manually type in [ book: Title | GRs book number ] without the spaces. So, for example, the URL for the book Wicked Girls is goodreads.com/book/show/6970101.Wicke...
So I'd type in [ book: title (Wicked Girls) | 6970101 (=book number) ] without the spaces and the stuff in parentheses.

JODI TX post 2533

Both tasks 20.2 and 20.8 require that you specify which option you chose.

For 30.11, please explain how your specified book fits option 4.

You've already posted for task 10.7, around the middle of July, with a book of poetry.

Oh! I totally did not know that the ISBN number was that string of numbers. Thanks so much for the help!

message 414: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments I totally agree with you Kristi. Typing the isbn number in the little link box is the only way to guarantee that you link to the correct version. I just learned that this season and it has been a great time saver in the long run.

message 415: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (sureshot26) | 745 comments For those who are Kindle users, a quick tip for finding the Kindle edition - when you page through the "other editions," the Kindle version says "Published in " with nothing following the vast majority of the time. Print editions typically show a date.

Umm...the ISBN is not that little string of numbers. ISBNs are either 10 numbers or 13 numbers.

I think what Kristi is saying she does is 1) look up the book on GR by the ISBN to navigate to the page of the exact edition she wants, then 2) use the GR book number from that edition's page to write out the link manually in her post.

However, if you click on "add book/author" and paste or type the ISBN into the search box, the exact edition with that ISBN will come up. That's the best way to search for specific editions that you want to link to in a post.

I will just type in the isbn number on the back of the book in the future. Thanks everyone for the tips!

Task 30.6, option D, requires that you include which list the book is on and what its position on the list is.

JOANIE posst 2583

25.2, option 1 requires that the author have published "more than 5 books." GR shows Marya Hornbacher as having published 5 exactly.

To claim points for a group read, you must post a comment in the discussion thread. I don't see a post from you in that thread. If I'm missing it, please point in out to me - otherwwise, post a comment, then repost your task.

Task 20.3, option 3 doesn't include Adventure as a genre. However, your book does have mystery listed, so the book works.
