It is a challenge where teams of readers read a particular genre or shelf that has been predetermined by a moderator. Once the team has completed that, the space is considered "covered." The first team to "Bingo" vertically, diagonally, or horizontally wins the challenge.
The moderator of the challenge has grids of the shelves or genre so the challenge readers can cover the shelves just like a bingo card.

3. Summer is important to me because my mother was born in June and was married in August. When she died suddenly a few years back, I took many of her books. They've sat on my shelves now almost 6 years and it looks like I'll be able to work more of her books in the challenge.
8. Using my existing owned books without buying any this Summer.

The one Meghan and I are talking about, specifically, is the one hosted on the SOS (Serious Overload of Series) group. It's primarily Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy, but any genre book found on the specific Good Reads shelf is acceptable -- though the mod added a minimum page requirement the last round. A new shelf is called every weekend until a team declares bingo.
It's become quiet popular -- the first game had 25 players, the most recent had 75.

Mariya,
I am doing my first one in The Crazy Challenge Connection and it has been fun. I try to pick books that will work for one the SRC Tasks, too.

2. Read the Booker longlist after it is announced in July (I do this every year).

1. To get at least 55% of all points.
2. To double-check everything before I post (task requirements, my math) and not end up on the "Wall of Shame"
3. Read at least 15 new-to-me authors.
4. Use as many books that I already have on hand as possible.
5. Have fun!

You're welcome! :) Oh, it is. Especially once teams start getting 4-in-a-row. :D

2. Get at least 400 points (my highest was 395 in the winter challenge & I'd really love to top that!)
3. Read some of the almost-300 books I own and haven't read!!!
4. Do some "professional" (education-related) reading
5. Make more use of my library instead of buying more books! (I borrowed 5 books last week + one interlibrary loan book in anticipation of beginning the summer challenge!)
Good luck to us all in meeting our goals. :)

My secondary goal is not to buy or check out any library books for this challenge. I have 200+ books here at home that I have never read. Some of them are books I bought at a library sale last year, most of them are books my husband brought to our marriage (he has a masters in English, so he came with A LOT of books!).

1. Get at least 750 points (I did 690 in this last challenge which was 63%; 750 in this challenge will take me to about 70%)
2. Complete all 30 and 20 point tasks
3. Don't end up in the ?s/problems thread

From what I've read, you can only turn in the ebooks early because it's through Amazon. I wish you could return audiobooks early. I've had to let several go because I was already at my limit when I was notified they were available.

Mrs. A, please let me know if you find one. Sounds like a lot of fun!
Three cheeers for all of you who have resolved to stay out of the ?/problems thread! As the "readerboard moderator" this time around, I would LOVE to see that thread stay empty!

1. Claim at least half the total points.
2. Read at least one classic (generally I've been working on the Modern Library's 100 books for the 20th century list, but sometimes I go with others).
3. Read at least one book for the Best Books Ever list on Listopia.
4. Read books from the physical TBR pile in my home. This is the hardest for me.

Yay, Anne! Looking forward to your task.

I think I will also make it my goal to discover at least two new authors I would like to read more of, every season.

Thank you ;-P. It is being looked at by all three mods now. Hopefully it will be up Sunday.

1. Finish the challenge.
2. Read at least 20 books that I actually own.
3. Read 5 or more books that are over 500 pages.
4. Have fun!
My goals are!
1) finish the challenge by the early cut of date.
2) fit most of my tasks with ARC I need to do reviews on
3) finish at least 1 series
4) avoid the wall of shame
5) don't forget to post reviews!

I just reached halfway in my points collection. The non-fiction is still an issue though

#5 (read more TBR than I add to TBR) has failed. I started with 718 books on TBR and now have 749!

I'm a little better than half way finished with the whole challenge and have most of the two book tasks half done.
So I am pretty on track.

Way to go!
