Luke Dyess I am currently reading this, but haven't gotten that far into it.

Has anyone read it? How was it?

Dineen Miller I loved it! Great book. The sequel is about to release too. Dekker and Lee are two of my favorite authors. Hope you love it as much as I did!

Melissa It's not one of Dekker's better works and it definitely does not highlight Lee's talents. It's a lot like Dekker's Circle books, which are infinitely better IMHO. I hope you enjoy it much more than I did.

Time to start reading again It is annoyingly similar to his other stuff, with the group of 4 and all, but I'm all over Saric and Feyn.

mmstanley75 I liked it. Emmanuel's Veins was pretty good as well.
I haven't read The Bride Collector... how is it???

It was pretty good. I just read it. You will like it. I read in one day. Though there some disturbing elements about. But all in all, it was a great book.

Ashlee I LOVED this book! I highly recomend it for any Ted Dekker fan! The second book in this series just came out a while aho and I'm so physced to read it because the first one was so good!

M. This was my first Ted Dekker book to read. I loved this book and I am currently reading Mortals. I think Mortals is more descriptive. He does a great job with painting the scene with all your senses (sight sound vision touch etc). If that makes any sense to you all.

Vincent Chan The beginning of the book was a bit slow for me. But it definitely got better as it went on.

mmstanley75 I just finished Mortals. I really enjoyed it and I agree with Megan - very descriptive. Can't wait for the third!

Blaine Latham I think this book was similar to his others. It was ok but would not go out of my way to read it again

How did you feel about the ending of Mortals? I was kind of depressed...

You should move it closer to the top for sure!

How funny is that!?!?

Marc Stanley Thanks for the input...I've got four to finish this week, then i can move Forbidden up...if i don't go through book buying withdrawl over the weekend!

Adelaide Metzger Luke, definitely give it a try. It will surprise you. I was.

Mojoboy31 I didn't care as much for this book as everyone else seems to. It just... *SPOILERS*

After they killed off my favorite character, it lost all the connection I had for the book.

*END SPOILERS*

And I didn't hunger to read the second book, in fact, I barely finished the first.

I've checked the second one out from the library a bunch of times, but never get around to reading it.

Also, I just don't care for Feyn-- at all.

Brian Palmer Forbidden is a decent start, but the sequel is dreadful. It is poorly edited and reads horribly; is LITTERED with typos, missing words and sentences which don't make sense; and worst of all (as others have mentioned) Dekker and Lee may as well be cribbing from The Circle series. I love Dekker and quite enjoy many of his books, but this is not a series I will be finishing.

message 24: by Melissa (last edited Mar 23, 2014 12:12AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Melissa I feel like Dekker finally starting writing like himself again. The mood of this series is a lot like the feel of The Circle series which are the books that caused me to fall in love with his writing in the first place. It started to seem like he was writing what people wanted him to write and what would sell books rather than writing from his passion. I couldn't even finish Immanual's veins, it was so bad, and I disliked Boneman's daughters, as well. Reading this series gives me hope that Dekker is returning to the writer I know and love.

D.W. Brown I wasn't impressed with this one and I'm a big Dekker fan. Very slow and too futuristic for my taste...
